Wow, I'd love to go see both Air and James Brown. Big C, no Alice Cooper for you? You gotta admit,
Poison fucking rocks.
Should I be frightened by the fact that my mother used to date Alice Cooper?

Was this about 9 months before you were born?
Might explain a few things...

She also went on a date with Chubby Checker and dated Jerry Garcia while on their Ontario tour. Ya know the Penny Lane character from Almost Famous? That's pretty much my mom circa 1969-1972.

Tollwood summer festival in general is worth seeing, although I must say last year was not so good, but remember the year before the festival was great, and there was great bands on.
Get some really interesting/weird things on sale there !

Calling James Brown a has been is like calling Elvis a has been (OK, granted Elvis is dead, but anyway) - he is THE man when it comes to that genre and is truly a living legend.

@Jimbo
depends on ones music taste

True enough - you may not like him, or indeed his music, but surely it's pretty well indisputable that he is one of the most influential acts of the last however many years...

I agree that James Brown was a very influential musician. But I wonder how much of a show he will put on at the age of 71. This isn't him at his prime. You aren't going to be seeing so much those crazy sexy funky dance moves of his.
I saw Jerry Lee Lewis (who's just a couple of years older than James) about 15 years ago and although I'm happy to say that I saw him, balls of fire he was not.

a fact I readily accept - I'm half expecting a refund if the old boy carks it. I just wanna see a legend - this'll probably be my last chance.

Well, the Village People and Jimmy Somerville are playing, so that probably counts as a yes.
