I will be looking for a bottle of Mead tomorrow night, and was desperately hoping somebody may be able to give me a place to start looking rolleyes.gif

No, I have not got any bearded folk singers coming to stay...

Funny you mention it, we had a lunchtime conversation about this last week (I was at a Banquet in Bunratty Castle years back and the only drink available was Mead, which was nice), and according to the person I was talking to, it is available in Germany, so ask for Met (pronounced with a long e and a short t... mayt) or Hönigwein. Try the usual suspects, Karstadt, Dallmayr, Käfer etc.

Hiya
in Fürstenfeldbruck or online try this lot.
Viktmkt is also worth a go, you are most likely to find it at Bio or Honey stalls.
Try also health food shops, in fact Bio Basic in Schwabing or Viktmkt area will stock it.
MysteryMan is spot on with the 2 terms (which is nice).
Happy shopping!

Don,

try the Hönighäusl on Viktualienmarkt. If my memory serves me correctly, they have a selection.

The honey places at Viktualienmarkt are gonna be my first port of call. Excellent.

A banquet? Wow, Bunratty Castle is lovely! So's a Guinness & black at Durty Nelly's afterwards...

It was a junket and the company on the occasion left a lot to be desired, but it was atmospheric and improved linearly with increased aforementioned mead consumption. btw, it wasn't the full fancy dress jobbie, but we did get great big joints (of the meat variety) to gnaw on.
