Anyone got a good supplier for mail order PC parts in Germany?

Prefer online shopping, but also prefer prices that dont involve shop fronts.

Thanks

try K&M Elektronik

I use them, good prices and fast delivery.
You can also order on-line and pick-up at the Munich Branch in Leopold strasse (I think)

Lion Electronics is extremely cheap and deliver overnight. Its all wholesale prices.

What sort of parts are you looking for?

On the components front the German office of Farnell is pretty good (www.farnell.de) the nice thing about them, apart from the fact they are just south of Munich, so overnight delivery is no problem and that their German website is almost identical to their English one (www.farnell.co.uk) with the same part numbers so you can browse the English site. find the bits you need, then simply drop them into the German online shop.

pootle,

Conrad has a good assortment of parts and the prices are fair. I need to get a case soon and was thinking about going there. If you wanna come along, lemme know.

The selection at Conrad is good, and their have convenient city stores. They are the nearest thing in Germany to Tandy/Radio Shack. However, I would never rate them as especially cheap...

A couple of places that I buy my PC parts from are located in or just off Schillerstr. which runs directly out from Hauptbahnhof.

They have websites and online ordering too:

Norbert Brand Computers

and

Litec Computers

There are quite a few more close by, plus if you are after electronic bit and pieces, there is a couple of suppliers there too.

They generally have much better prices than Conrad.

I can recommend Litec - they seem well cheap.

Does anyone know of a way to claim back VAT for stuff you buy in Germany?

I've got a VAT reg'd company in the UK but the consensus seems to be that I can't claim back VAT on stuff I buy here.

Alternate - http://www.alternate.de

Cheap and lots on offer. I've used them before without problems. I strongly recommend them.

I've used Litec as well, and they're fine. Also, you might check if your employer has any preset vendor agreements that you can take advantage of. If you can get in on a B2B deal - it's usually a bit to a lot cheaper.

Hi,
Two months ago, I started looking for a new hard drive. I checked the prices on the net, found the cheapest ones I could, ended up going to Schillerstrasse and found a better deal there.

BUT

I might also suggest those price comparing engines like idealo or guenstiger
maybe you will get lucky.

Cheers
