I will never understand how a Feiertag can fall on a Saturday. And it's going to happen a few times this year.
On the positive side, the effect will contribute 0.3% to Germany's GDP this year because we all have to work 4 days extra. On the negative side, if the shops are all closed, how are we supposed to buy any of the extra products on the shelves?

And the stocks may be low on Monday because there may be no truckers giving deliveries! Yes, we all need truckers.

The next one's not till Xmas Day, is it? And that's the only other one this year.

the next "lost" holiday is 3 October, which is a Sunday. Both Christmas and Boxing days are over the weekend, as is 1 January - ok, that's officially next year, but still!

thank goodness my company gives us Christmas Eve and NY Eve off...

Thanks for the reminder. Saturday Fiertags really irritate me as even the things you can do on a Sunday, such as go swimming seem to be shut. I hope the weather is good enough for a walk with an ice cream at the end.
