English-language cinemas in Hannover

Do you know which cinema in Hannover shows movies in their original language? Is it the one behind the railway station? I've been surfing the net with no success. Cheers! Sandra

sorry haven't answered sooner, had a week off at home..wouldn't call it a holiday but thats another story for tomorrow.. there used to be one near the Bahnhof but that was a while ago, i will make some enquiries tomorrow and get back to you, till then have a nice Sunday and greetings to Graeham and the wee ones !

Yes Gav, that was then ...this is now, they have closed down

The UFA English-language cinema on Thielenplatz is long gone (IIRC they closed down in 2003 or so), but the big Cinemaxx on Raschplatz (behind the train station) does indeed show some movies in English, though not as frequently as they used to.

I know the one in Langenhagen plays English films too. The one behind the Bahnhof in Hannover (next to Pizza hut) sometimes shows English films.

The Cinemax in the Rauschplatz just behind the Hauptbahnhof has English language films. They only show them once or twice a week, and its usually not at the greatest times. ie 12 midnight on Sunday night. But if you check there at the box office you should be able to find some.

Just to update here after a long while: The cinema at the Thielenplatz doesn't exist anymore.

There are however regular evening at the Hochhaus (http://www.permondo.de/locations/2825) and also at the Cinemaxx Raschplatz (http://www.permondo.de/locations/4013). You will have to check their website though and the films are ususally shown only once on the given day.
