Financial Planning As An Expat In Germany

needing advice

Hi,

has anyone got any tips for someone looking for basic financial planning advice as a british national in Germany? I've been in contact with a few people and companies here and it sounds very rosy when you talk to the saled guys but are there any pitfalls?

I'm looking for advice on saving/investing for the future (i.e. old age). Has anyone experienced anything to be aware of? Anything to look out for?

sorry , I know , not very constructive but that's the kind of mood I'm in today ...

If you are serious about investing / saving for the future I would advise going to your bank and starting with them ... make sure you know how much risk you are willing to take , do you just want to invest in something safe like Government Bonds , Pfandbriefe , money market funds , are you willing to take more risk for example equity-based funds , how long are you looking to invest for -- maybe a life insurance policy with cash payout in 30 years ...

try and think about what you want to achieve before you go there ... and don't listen to the guy in the pub ...
