The problem with Jever is after drinking your perspiration smells of Jever bier.
My personal fav is Krombacher, i detest Becks, Astra and Edel pils (aka evil pils)

My favourite beer is the "home brew" at the brewery/restaurant Wäldches in Frankfurt ... order "ein helles Bier" or ten and you won't regret it

Totally agree that the brews in the Zwölf Apostel and Wäldches are great, but the best for me has to be Andechs Hell. Pure bliss. Difficult to get hold of around here though.

A bit off topic though if you are ever in Hamburg try the Budweiser or the Pils at the Alt Hamburgische Keller (Dont know if I have spelt it right) on Mittelweg located opposite the Sparkasse. Its the original Czech stuff and is really good. Though I agree that Warsteiner is the only stuff to drink out of the bottle.

Wäldches is a bit off the beaten track in Ginnheim ... plenty of car parking , as a rough guide it's about 10 minutes with a taxi from Bockenheim , richtung Nordweststadt , on the right hand side behind some football pitches
used to be my favourite haunt with my (ex) wife ... now looking for someone new to go there with
