German Cannibal - Armin Meiwes

I have just heard that Armin Meiwes, the German cannibal, has got off with Manslaughter and will only get 8 and half years !

Such nutters need locking up for life !!

They say human flesh tastes like pork...there's lots of pork in the supermarkets here...or is it??

I wouldn't try the sausages !!!

It was amazing that he only got 8.5 yrs - but when you think about it, how could they charge him with murder when the 'victim' was willing to be eaten...urgh...the thought of it...Manslaughter was the only charge they could convict him of but surely 8.5 yrs was a tad too short for such a thing

Do you think he will be released after he has done his time, or will he be quietly moved to the German equivalent of Broadmoor?

He'll do three and a half, possibly four. This whole thing is just so that the moral structure appearance of Germany is not tarnished. Imagine it - man eats man (in agreement with the situ or not) and doesn't even have to stay late after school !!

He will be released. He was proved to be sane at the start of the trial.

There was a Jap who ate his Swedish girlfriend, he also got a relatively short sentence and became a somewhat celebrity in Japan . His plead was that he did it because he wanted to totally have her because he loved her so much… totally mad if you ask me, but he is walking the streets and has done many chat shows. I would hate to see this head case make money over this affair.

As it happens Mac, he's planning on writing his memoirs. I don't know if there's a law here that prohibits convicted criminals from making money from their crimes but even if there is, there will be a loophole in it.

And what is totally sick is that some callous individuals will buy the book, wear the T-shirt and probably eat the pie

Slackmack, you were correct - he has already been offered a wad of considerable depth for the whole story. It is being picked up by a film company !!
