Germans and "The KISS Principle"?

Has anybody else heard of the KISS principle in business or is it just one of these things that Germans seem to like throwing into business conversations to appear "cool"? Apparently, it stands for Keep It Short and Simple, especially in terms of instructions, presentations, etc. Only I've just come across it and it was new to me... huh.gif
Dusty
It was used in the Army as a basis for methods of instruction. "Keep it Simple Stupid"
Matsan
I first heard it in southern Switzerland in 2000 and was told it meant "Keep It Simple and Stupid". I always thought it sounded a bit limp and "invented"... huh.gif

It isn't a new expression. I first heard it about 25 years ago. Another one is the 4Ps. "Preparation and Planning Prevents Poor Performance" or 5Ps "Preparation and Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance"
Adi
The KISS principle is just a more modern expression for "Ockham's Razor" (several other spellings too, like Occam). It's from a 14th century English logician and Franciscan friar, William of Ockham.

Well, we know they catch up with the latest trends in the end... tongue.gif

Excuse me Dusty, but isn't that 5 "P"s and 6 "P"s respectively?
Dusty
lol

See what I mean Luke. Lack of Preparation and Planning on my part.

I'm sure we could add a few more biggrin.gif
