I just saw this notice and thought it might interest some friends of the night:

Posted 24.Apr.2006 - Dokumentar-Film /Dreharbeiten on www.schwarzes-muenchen.de by Graf Tarek

Rough translation:

QUOTE
On Wed 26th April and Sat 29th April, a group of interns from Macromedia GmbH (Academy for Media) will be filming a documentary/festival film for their studies. For this doc about the goth scene, the students would like to illustrate the different backgrounds and reasons behing the goth scene, which "normal mortals" may be confused about - starting with the question about the origin (London, gothic/Victorian era, Baroque etc) and also asking about the views of the public about goths (outsiders, individualists, crazy people) up to the acceptance within society (how do friends react, partners, workplace) as well as the daily routine of these people.

They will be filming from 8-11pm and would be glad of support by Nerodom's guests..

Q. Why do you never see a forty year old goth?
A. They grow up.

Bad joke, I know...but a hint of truth.
UrbanAngel
I actually know lots of 40+ yr old goths biggrin.gif
BadDoggie
They need to stick around until at least 1:30 when Augen Auf gets played and everyone rushes to the floor for that box step line dance. It would make a beautiful contrast to all the claims of "I want to show my individuality" they'll inevitably hear.

woof.

Old goths never die, they just need less and less make-up.

Actually it was Whitby Gothic Weekend 21st-22nd April here in the UK, an event I keep meaning to go to and bring my black velvet and purple clothes out of mothballs for a nostalgic outing (though doubt they still fit!)
By the way, my partner has a ticket for Sisters of Mercy playing the Astoria in London on 2nd May which she now thinks she can't get to, if anyone is interested.
UrbanAngel
I reckon there's still tickets for the gig in Munich on Wednesday ,)

Thanks Mods for doing a nice clean-up job on my post including the direct link to the post!

A. They grow up.

Usually to be successful, according to a study at Sussex University:

I have seen the future - and it's goth

QUOTE
It's every parent's nightmare. Their apparently well-adjusted child suddenly comes home with hair the colour of a coalface, a face whiter than anything made by Dulux, and announces, "Mummy, I'm a goth." However, according to a new study, parents of goths will probably end up boasting about their son/daughter the doctor, lawyer or bank manager.

(from the 2000 Hamburg 4 topic).
