Ok, its time to play! 13th of May!
I am hoping that there will be a poker table and two tables of something else. I still have Cranium hanging out at my house (hint hint) and there is always Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit (German and English).
Unfortunately, Perdido took back his Carcassone game. sad.gif

Same deal as always: Games begin roughly at 8pm.

There is the possibility of grilling out earlier depending on the weather.

An added bonus: Two Fingers Tequila shots will be available to the poker players prior to the game for €2. tongue.gif
After the game, they will be €5. (I got to make up for my losses.) laugh.gif
Daisy
Can anyone come play? I love board games, but I am not so good at poker. I do have Rummikub to bring along as well if anyone likes that.
eurovol
Anyone is welcome! It is open to all Toytowners and people that aren't on TT.
Pirulero
where what when? I nominate RISK as a contender!
eurovol
Here at my house, um, the 13th and if you want to bring Risk, then I call black!
Oh, and I will kick your ass too!
Does that answer your questions?
Did I mention that I would kick your ass in Risk?
Damn, I need to get that game. I kick people's asses in it. rolleyes.gif

A night of board games sounds like fun.

I have Carcassonne, in case there is a demand for that game. But I'm fine with other games as well (not so much into poker and other card games, though).

Will there be some sort of sign-up list so that it becomes clear how many people are interested and what they want to do?

great game! I'd come along solely for the rummikub.
catch_twotwo
Sounds interesting... I might come along just to learn to play some of the games. I had a deprived childhood you see wink.gif
NOFXmike
Petra and I would love to come along as always...I have the day off (well, a city tour from 10am-noon thirty) so we have no problems on the date - yay - ...so yeah.

We don't gamble, so about anything else, we're up for. Board games especially...

thanks Eurovol

you can count me in, but I probably will be a bit late.
mere

eurovol
John eight thousand and eight, I had almost thought you had gone back to the states like our other Jon. You are in and good to have you back amongst us.
I will make a list soon. There will be some non-TTers coming too so it would be a good chance for some of you to meet people outside this little habitat.
eurovol
Daisy (will bring Rummikub)
Pirulero (may or may not actually have Risk?)
tom_a
luckwad (wants to play Rummikub)

mere
sorry is a great game!
luckwad
I can bring Mastermind, Operation, Twister or various other games if needed. Taking care of kids, I suddenly have a wealth of board games at hand.
Pirulero

dramadiva
I have been hoping that there would be a game night that we could make! Please include myself and my husband. We have several games we could bring if there is interest...Apples to Apples ( I love this game and it's great for a large group), Trivial Pursuit 20th Century edition, and Simpsons Monopoly, Simpsons clue, and Simpsons Uno (the hubby is a bit of a Simpsons fan!). laugh.gif

I can vouch for Apples to Apples being a fantastic game as well. Particularly forthe loud, argumentative types. ...not that we have any of those here on TT ph34r.gif
Nisha
Hey eurovol! Yeah, sorry for abandoning my Cranium game at yours like a year ago (ok, well maybe not that long ago). As far as I know, I can make it on the 13th. I'll also be sticking to the board games only.

See ya then!

And you always come across as such a well adjusted american on the forum. Suppose Bush rubs off on you all somehow!!! ph34r.gif

Would be keen to join, though depends on work...will know closer the time. That's as long as you don't mind me trying to recreate an empire upon which the sun never sets...
mere
have fun all you game players!
tonight while discussing dates now through august i found out the parents will be out of town so it looks like i will not be there playing w/ you sad.gif (i also think some how i got talked into at least 2 more months of work if not more... not sure.. but very sneaky of them...)
if things change i'll def be there! smile.gif
autoholic
I am so up for this -- and on a free weekend, too! I can contribute standards backgammon, cribbage and Uno and a personal fave The Amazing Labyrinth. Does anyone have Parcheesi?
Daisy

Depending on the weather, we are thinking of meeting early at the local Greek restaurant beer garden for a food and drink. Will know more around Tuesday next week.
sarabyrd
Do we bring some kind of drinks and munchie stuff for the gamesy bit? I don't remember ever drinking beer while playing Sorry, but there's always a first. Weißbier always featured largely at Risk.
drw
Please add me to the list. I'm looking forward to this!
Daisy
It's Tuesday! Weather Report said Saturday was supposed to be nice but today it is forecasted to rain. Grr.

If the weather is good, then we are planning to head to the local beer garden (across the street) about 5ish for Greek food and everyone is welcome to join us. This isn't a definite, but we should know for sure by Thursday or Friday. Games night proper will start at 7:30-8ish.
I will probably make some popcorn and have some other snacks on hand, but you can bring anything that you want to share. There are cold drinks on hand at cost like a variety of beer and limonade. Wine and harder stuff is also available. PM with directions sent, if you didn't recieve one, then let me know. Please RSVP.

You've got the beginnings of a Bosnian soccer team there.

Awww, too bad. Can't they tag along? (The kids, not the parents)
Scogs, Haggis Junior and I are shoo-ins, we're looking forward to this! Is anyone bringing Risk yet?
ThePosterWithNoName
Will there be tiddlywinks?

Even if there isn't I hope there's space for The Poker Player With No Name.

@sarabyrd. i'm considering it, but 8pm is a bit late since they are 4 and 7. so we'd be there an hour if that then leave b/c that'd still get them home and in bed late (10pmish)

No one ever figured out how to actually PLAY Carcasonne, though...

Some friends of ours have it and I looked at the rules when we last visited them as they threatened us* with playing it. It looks like one of those where you've got to play it and see how it works, rather than sit and work out every nuance. The rules themselves didn't look too complicated, but trying to imagine how the game played in practice did my head in.

* I say "threatened", but they actually said it was very good.
NOFXmike
the thing is, the last time we tried Carcasonne on games night, we had one person who had played it before...and that DID NOT work...basically, we got bored of the game REALLY fast...
Daisy
I don't know if anyone is bringing Risk yet. But I am still bringing Rummikub and hoping that 3 more people will play at least one game with me.

That should do it because it does look like it is going to rain tomorrow and the beer garden will be out. It also means that sitting on the porch will only be for those that like cool weather.

We still might do a order out deal prior to the games if it actually does rain tomorrow.

no worries there, I'm a self-proclaimed Rummikub addict.

@eurovol...can you put me down as..."want to be there, but away for the weekend". Is it too early to start planning the next one?
kim
I would love to join, but the list seems to be losed. Anyway, if people should drop out and there would be a free place, please let me know. Otherwise have fun and I will join you another time...
anniela
Looks like you have a full house. If anyone drops out, I'm interested!
eurovol
check out this site tomorrow for special details of Greek food. If the beer garden is closed, we could still meet early for food inside. This place is awesome (and I am a chef too) and they have plenty of room inside for a crowd. Post up if you are interested, otherwise we will look towards ordering out prior to the festivities.
