There are other cooking schools around but...

I haven't seen any schools for japanese food (or particularly Sushi) in Munich and can't find anything on the net either. I did buy a book in England yesterday about it which is a start but would rather learn it properly.
Anyone? . ...

Unless you plan on cutting up the fish yourself from scratch, there really isn't that much to learn. Like anything that you want to do well, it just takes practice.

Edit: that is not exactly true...in this case, you need a bamboo mat too! wink.gif

Go to Sasou on Marienplatz and watch them making it through the window.

I know the owner of Sushi Express on Belgradstr and maybe I could hassle him.
I was back home at the weekend on the Isle of Wight and realised there is no chance of buying Sushi there at all. Apart from enjoying making it here in Munich I'd like to be able to carry on back home if I went back, including cutting up the fish.

the Volkshochschule do a japanese cooking course, sushi, teriyaki and tempura. In fact i'm going in may for a day.

I took the VHS Sushi course last year and it was pretty good. We had loads to eat that day. I totally recommend it.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I've booked an introduction course at the Volkhochschule. Cost 21,- + 11,- EUR materials. It's only 4 hours so don't expect to learn too much but reckon I'll go for the Mangostin course at some time too. Thanks biggrin.gif
