I have to go for an MRI and on the Überweisung it says: unklare prätib. Verdickung mittl. So what would the prätib. and mittl. mean?

Pre-tibular and mittel i.e. middle I would think.

"prätib" is an abreviation for "Prätibial" which in itself is Germanised Latin medical speak for "before, or prior to the shinbone". "mittl." means "middle". So I'd say you have a mysterious swelling in the middle of your upper shin, but you probably knew that anyway...

For those of you who understand German,
this is a good link to an online dictionary explaining German medical terms and terminology used in diagnostic findings.

A useful link, but doesn't have "prätib." or "Prätibial" unfortunately...
