Naan bread is now available at Penny Markt. Much cheaper than I've seen it elsewhere, EUR 1,69 for two pieces total 260g. Comes as plain, tomato and onion or garlic and corriander.
Wish I'd seen 'em yesterday as we had chicken curry for tea last night.

Do they still have naan at Aldi? They used to in the shop near Augustinerkeller.

Not tried it yet but will report back tomorrow as I'm thinking tonight might be gorgeous little nibbly things.

Had some last night,
Not bad at all, especially for pre packed stuff.

They had them last year aswell, but they were all gone after a few days. Hope they'll be stocking them permanently this time.

Aldi does indeed get them from time to time. Rub the fellahs in a bit of water before you whack 'em in the oven, or you'll risk getting something more akin to a massive coriander flavoured rich tea biscuit than bread.

Hohenzollernplatz).

Just trying to confirm, is this now a regular feature or was it a weekly special?

Does anyone know where to get ready-made naan bread, which shops have naan bread? Cheers.

Penny Markt sell it. Can't vouch for the quality though, might be good, might be bad.

If you want it hot and ready-to-eat,
Shere Punjab does decent take-away Naan at all its locations.
(Though I never tried it at their
Leopoldstrasse outlet)

And only 1€ for a naan there.
I would say that you get what you pay for at
Shere Punjab on
Leopoldstrasse. Yes, it was cheap as dirt, but it tasted about the same.
Of course, this is my opinion only. If you like it, then enjoy it.

Their food is not so great, but the Naan is quite decent. At least at
Isartor, where I used to buy it rather frequently in the past.

That little Thai Asian shop in the Leonrodstr. (almost opposite the Meldeamt - so U1/U7/Bus 53/Tram 12 Rotkreuzplatz) sells them in a vaccuum-pack. Freeze wonderfully. You could get them and nip around to mine for a natter, blimey.

Any you have a dedicated beer fridge.

Blimey knows this - that fridge invites shock and awe you know. Today it also contains a raspberry trifle, balanced on top of the 3 cases of beer (2 Augustiner Hell, 1 Franziskaner).
Freezer has naan bread, chapatis and vodka in it.
Frozen naan really microwaves well, better than it should do in fact.

You just read my mind, Kay. I've just asked about the baby on the "inducing labour" thread. Is your lady eating this naan on a mini-trampoline, grazzenger?

I have witnessed TCH eating his weight in garlic naan (on more than one occassion). His opinion may be worthy (in this one, particular, very narrowly defined area

).

the thickness is actually correct for proper naan but the problem is that your oven at home isn't hot enought to cook it properly so they will never taste as good as restaurant naans. I miss the "family" sized naan you get in Balti houses in Brum. They are so big they literally cover the table. The best bit imo was always the thick edge of the naan.mmmmm. It seemed most people prefered the edge as well cos it was always the thin middle bit that got left over.
