Sofia Verlag strives to make learning a fun and entertaining experience for children of all ages and we are now offering a series of English classes for children starting from three years of age. Classes are offered daily Monday through Saturday and are limited to six children per class.
Our classes are based on our Playhouse series which uses theatre to teach children reading skills and develop their sight word vocabulary. Over the course of twenty weeks, the children learn a list of sight words which are incorporated into a theatrical performance. At the end of the course, the children will present the play for parents and friends and will be awarded a certificate of participation.
In our classes for older children, who already know their sight words, Sofia focuses on English language fluency and self expression. Our goal is to give children the confidence to use the English language.
Parents are an important tool in the learning process and we encourage parents to use books, audio CDs and DVDs to help children retain the information learned in class and improve their fluency. In addition to using various learning materials, we encourage parents to participate in workshops and outside activities that enforce the concepts learned in class.
