Hello everyone,
Does anyone know of any clothes shops for tall men in Munich? My boyfriend is 6 foot 9 inches or 203 cm but quite slim. Bless him, he spent all day Saturday patiently following me around while I bought loads of cool new spring clothes (I am so average, 5 foot 6 and size 12 so it is very easy for me). I feel sorry for him as he has to go to High & Mighty when we go back to UK to get clothes that fit. But there are loads more tall blokes over here than in UK so I thought maybe there are some specialist shops that we're missing? I have doen a search on this web site and generally online but failed so far in my attempts to clothe the poor man. If anyone can help him it would be most appreciated, otherwise look out for the tall guy in the homemade loin cloth!!! He he he. May thanks, Nell

Hirmer on Kaufingerstr have a section on the top floor for those of the beanpole persuasion.

I have a connection for handmade shirts and suits at mass produced prices if it helps.
UrbanAngel
Wormland have suits for tall men.

Thank you all, gives us more places to look. The contact for suits and shirts would be great, as I said he is very tall but also pretty slim due to basketball and lots of other sporty type stuff. Manufacturers seem to think that if you're really tall you must be xxxL too. Thanks again.

my hubby's given up on German shops: also plays basketball and is 6'6" and 84 kilos (really really skinny). We go to Rochester Big and Tall in the US, but they also have a branch in London. Even they don't have suits and shirts that fit, so he does have those tailored. Shirts from Chile where he was traveling once and got measured and they're so cheap it's still worth it to have them sent here, and suits from Kuhn.

Spookyfella, any reason not to post your info here on the thread?

A couple of years ago, I got a custom tailored suit from Dolzer in Stuttgart for 440 DM (=220 Euro),
400 DM normal price + 40 DM because they needed more fabric for my 197cm (=6'5").
I can recommend them very much, I think they have opened a branch in the new Parkstadt
Schwabing quarter.

Well there's definitely no point asking me laugh.gif Still, this must be the best part of the world to try and buy such clothes - so many Germans look like they've spent their formative years squeezed into a drainpipe. I've got this theory that when they get to middle age they get pressed into a beer barrel until they attain the gesetzlich verpflichtet form for middle aged people.

Hmm. I'm tall and, to quote cartman, big boned. If anyone has any recommendations for somewhere that stocks long leg jeans in a 42" waist I'd really appreciate it.

@littlenell: SportScheck has lots of XXL stuff - always long enough in the leg for me (I'm 6'7") but often not wide enough on the thighs or waist.

I am 195cm tall and 105 kilos - I shop at Hirmer for "business" clothing - they have the best
selection of these type of clothes (Dockers, dress slacks and shirts, etc) that I could find in
Munich. The "Big and Tall" section is on the top floor - Hirmer is very pricey, but you get good
quality and excellent customer service (they sewed buttons on my leather jacket for FREE!).

Also - I found really good deals on casual clothing (jeans, etc) in the basement of CA - Hauptbahnhof.
Other CA stores do not seem to have the large sizes - the one right next to the Hauptbahnhof has a
ton of big sizes and they are dirt cheap!

Hope this helps!
