Has anyone heard whether we're supposed to have a real summer this year? Or will it be another like the last two.
My vermieterin firmly stated that there would be no summer this year. Rain Rain Rain she forecasted. However, she is not a meteorologist. And what she based her statement on, I have no idea.

@ER
There's this hobby meteorologist who lives out at Starnberger See. I read an article on him two months ago. His predictions are more accurate than the official weather report. He predicted the unusually hot summer in 2003, the floods last year and the unusually cold winter. The official meteorologist have no idea how he manages his mostly correct predictions but listen to him nonetheless. Anway, he has discovered that weather repeats itself in 7-year patterns. Concluding from that and jotting down the daily weather meticulously, he has been able to predict the weather very accurately. He only has his own private weather station on his balcony as a help and the figures he had gathered over the many years. Anyway, he said April is going to be very cold and wet. He said that spring will only start end of May, that summer is going to be a flop again, but that we will at least have a *few* days for going to the beergarden.

the weather cycle seems to be almost exactly the same every year here - so it amazes me that people are still amazed by it

although todays snow fall is a little heavier than the usual snow falls I 'd expect in April!

I know it has been a year since last April but I for one don't remember this much snow staying on the ground last time.
boomtown_rat
Apr 11 2006, 12:26 pm
there was a lot of snow on the ground until end of March and then the odd snow flurry in April. When I say the same I mean pretty much the same rather than exact snow depths on exact days

Don't know really. The bf was living here already two years before I came and his word for Munich is "Regenloch".

I assume you mean 2003. Yeah that was unusual in its intensity I must admit (35 degrees from May to Sept). That was a freak occurence in the whole of Europe though

2003 was an exceedingly hot and dry summer. Temps consistently in the 30s. A bit of a blip, just as this snow is now.

to be honest, it's not surprising considering we live within sight of the north side a continental mountain range, with the prevailing weather coming from the south west. we're gonna get rain and snow and, weather. if you had come from the uk, the weather here is better. someone made the comment earlier that although the uk get less rainfall, it seems to be more constant. here, it may be higher, but it comes in concentrated torrential downpours.

This is absurd. Our God of perfect love can whisper to his children, and often does; just because the vast majority of us refuse to listen does not mean that He is not talking to us.
