Bomb scare at Bonner Platz - Schwabing

U-Bahn station closed, miniMal evacuated

The Bonner Platz U-Bahn station is currently closed off, U-Bahn line U3. About 80 to 100 police officers surrounding the square above ground. I asked one of them what was up and they said "Bombenalarm". I asked what kind of bomb and they said they didn't know.

The miniMal has been evacuated. Eight fire-engines lined up outside.

Incidently, this is literally the other side of the apartment block from the bombscare in Destouchestrasse last August.

Wow - that's just around the corner.

The miniMal is on the other side of Karl-Thedor-Strasse from the parallel Destouchesstrasse - which I can see from my office window.

So, Bob, wanna come over to the safe part of Schwabing for a coffee? tongue.gif

I guess they're right about Munich being a boomtown . . .

Whatever it was, it seems to be sorted now. MiniMAL re-opened and the police and fire engines are leaving. U-Bahn station still roped though.

Someone trying to blow our windows out again huh? What is it with Bonner Platz and bombs? I've only been living there 1 year and about 3 days and that's the second bomb scare. It used to be such a respectable area . ....
Editor Bob
U-Bahn is open again. I guess it was a false alarm.

Panic over. TT HQ is safe once more.
DDBug
ok, I'll take the kettle off. smile.gif

That won't provide you any protection at all. You need a proper kevlar helmet, or a tinfoil hat.

Better believe it! Used too be such a nice area till I moved there and now it's all gone to shit
georgiagirl
Seriously! Scary, scary area. I can't believe anyone actually lives there. It's practically a slum. All sorts of weirdos lurking around buying newspapers in the middle of the day and stuff.
Editor Bob
Maybe that's why you feel so at home spending half your time here.

That'll be when I used to live there mate and before the riff-raff moved into the area.

Well, i've been living in such area (Belgradstr. and Destouchesstr.) for a year now and i've always thought it was really safe!
Don't know about you but these kind of bombthreats scare me to death- am on holidays in Argentina and am considering not coming back.
And Bild.de has not even mentioned it?!!
DDBug
It was a crank call. These things will probably subside when the kid(s) responsible are older and leave school...

It's a very safe neighborhood. Two blocks from my place - the most dangerous thing around is probably me on a bad day tongue.gif
