Parents with young children getting together

Hi all,

first off, a quick intro since I just joined Toytown. Last year, I moved from the US (Pittsburgh, PA) to Munich after living there for 12 years and becoming a citizen during that time. Currently I'm staying home with the kids, pretty busy settling in, but will start looking for a part-time job soon.

Is anyone interested in getting together for playdates? I have two kids, a three-year old daughter and a 16 months old son, and am looking to get together with other parents of small children, possibly even in forming an informal playgroup.

We live in Pasing, which is in the western part on Munich.

We're on the east side in Bogenhausen/Denning, but right by the S Bahn, so travel is not a problem.

Hi All

Have just moved to Munich. I am Australian (married to a German) with a 3 year old son and 18 month old daughter. I am looking to have some playdates with other English speakers in the Pullach area (although I live a little further South).

We are keen to get out about and meet with other English speakers. Would also like some tips from others in the area (i.e Kinderartz, kindergarten etc).

We are arriving in Munich from Australia on the 1st of May, so I would love to get together for a playdate and start meeting people. I have a 4 year old daughter and my son is 22 months. I don't know where we will end up living, however we will stay somewhere central to begin with.

thanks for your posts - maybe we can get together somewhere central for starters? There is s very nice playground near Sendlinger Tor, or we could meet at that Sticky Fingers place described in the "Main Topics" above. What do you think?

Unfortunately, I can only make it after Easter, b/c my schedule has been filling up rapidly.

Hello,

I've been in contact with Ulrike , however wanted to check if there are any English speaking playgroups out there open for all ages (I've noticed a few which are baby or 2 yr old specific) in central Munich or other parents with kids the same age who haven't seen this topic yet- especially if you are new or lonely!

My daughter is really missing her daycare friends and cousins- she goes up to kids in the spielplatzs and says "Will you be my friend?", but they don't understand her (she starts German private lessons next week) and one girl even said No to her, which upset her ! Kids!

Good to hear that there are some other people in Munich who are feeling just as frustrated as me. If you are all meeting up then we would like to join in - I have two boys, aged 4 1/2 and nearly 2. We are in Planegg but can meet up centrally if easier.

Can anyone let me know of any arrangements that have been made and if we can join in too??

it looks like some, maybe even all, of us are going to get together next Thursday, May 25, in the late morning. (it happens to be a holiday btw) Depending on the weather, we'll meet either at a centrally located playground or at my place in Pasing. I'll PM you details.
