Forget that I asked2006/03/20
At the end of his speech in Cleveland today, George W. Bush said he'd be "glad to answer some questions." But when the questions at the lunchtime event dragged on a little long for his liking, Bush blurted out, "Anybody work here in this town?"
Think Progress beat us to the inevitable punch line:
Not as many as used to, sir.(
http://thinkprogress.org/2006/03/20/bush-cleveland-work/ )
Since Bush became president, the unemployment rate in Cleveland has increased by 29 percent, from 4.5 percent in January 2001 to 5.8 percent in January 2006.

5.8% is still pretty good really, especially for a blue-collar (? correct me if I'm wrong) place like Cleveland
I quite like Bush's funny comments that he makes

I think the jokes should be left to the comedians. Read through that transcript; every couple of paragraphs is the word (LAUGHTER). It was a press conference on Iraq, Iran and the Middle-Eastern crisis; I'd prefer a world leader who took the issue a bit more seriously.

Anything Bush says is so uplifting after being relentlessly bombarded by Doom & Gloom Democrats in the mainstream media.

Bad, your not serious are you. I think the doom and gloom is the reports on the economy, casualties in Iraq and various governmental scandals. The Democrats want to fix problems, bush wants to say terrorism, war on terror, freedom and 9-11 whenever possible, then spy on us in clearly unconstitutional ways.
But more than your general attitute about Bush, the uplifting comment makes my stomach turn, he's the president and can't use complete sentences nor convey coherent thoughts.
Oh! Is THAT the slimehole you crawled out of. I didn't know Dubya took it up the arse from you personally BadBob. Way to go

The Democrats want to fix problems
These statements are ridiculous. With our two party system it needs to be understood that there is really no difference between democrats and republicans. I don't like Bush, but the answer does not lie with another Party which is just as corrupt. Eliminate the parties and free the mind!!! In fact I would rate democrats below republicans. Republicans choose a stupid point, but at least follow what they say. Democrats will say anything that sounds good in a soundbite, but will make deals for any scrap of legislature they can grab.

Sorry eurovol man, but brokenm's got a point. You have to kind of admire the way the Republican's have gone about blatantly fuckin' everyone and everything in the pursuit of money and power. Best damn profiteers and pirates in history. The Dems look very much in their back pockets. Still, what goes around comes around as they say. Only those who die in old age will escape the eventual justice because this shit can't go on for ever. Reliance on a cardboard cutout of an opposition is just plain foolin' yourselves. You have to wrestle your country back with the people, for the people. I wish you the very best of luck.

What percent of Americans were in Iraq? What percent were in water? How many were in cars? I would surmise from the "accidents" that you chose that it is much riskier to be an American in Iraq, than to drown in a bathtub.

I agree. Dems are not the answer, yet I have to be honest in that I trust the Dems more than the G.O.P.

Okay I'll agree I might have been a little over the top on the Dems fixing shit comment, but so fed up with the Reps, that any opposing party looks good (Unfortunately we only have one other chose). Kinda like going to the grocery store really hungry I guess. Deal is until 5 years ago I never considered myself Liberal, I really believe in small gov and fiscal conservatism. Bush screwed the pooch on both counts, throw his mindless babble and a couple thousand dead in the desert and I have made the turn.

Coming from a Cards fan, so you shouldn't take any offense, it what we are supposed to do. You in turn are meant to cuss the Cardinals and then we get piss drunk together and really hate on the Astros.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. college graduates are facing the best job market since 2001, with business, computer, engineering, education and health care grads in highest demand, a report by an employment consulting firm showed on Monday.
"We are approaching full employment and some employers are already dreaming up perks to attract the best talent," said John Challenger, chief executive of Challenger, Gray & Christmas.
In its annual outlook of entry-level jobs, Challenger, Gray & Christmas said strong job growth and falling unemployment makes this spring the hottest job market for America's 1.4 million college graduates since the dot-com collapse in 2001.
The firm pointed to a survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers which showed employers plan to hire 14.5 percent more new college graduates than a year ago.
The survey also found higher starting salaries this year. Graduates with economic or finance degrees will see the biggest gain with starting salaries up 11 percent to $45,191, while accounting salaries are up 6.2 percent, business management salaries up 3.9 percent and pay for civil engineers 4.3 percent higher.
