Bad breath can also be caused by indigestion and heartburn. It must not automatically be a sign of bad brushing, rinsing or whatever

I did also say Crawlie- that we refer patients to an internist if the bad breath is persistant.

ER- alot of the time, what happens is (Brokenm will argue with me) but mouth rinses can be very hard on the tissues- the alcohol is drying, especially if used lots and regularily- a person thinking they have bad breath after Garlic (nothing but time gets rid of that !) OVER USES a mouth wash- alot of the mouthwashes have alot of chemical in them, that can play havoc with the normal bacteria in the mouth. Often persistant bad breath is a sign of either poor or inadequate Oral Hygiene- brushing 5 times a day is useless if its not done for aleast 4 minutes a time! OR as I mentioned earlier stomache problems- often certain foods are not easily digested or stomache ulcers.

Note- if the breath is sweet smelling it can be a sign of Diabetitis,

Does he munch ass as well? It could be that the garlic was just covering up his ass munching activities. Personally I don't think that the stinking flora are normal, so I don't know why that would occur. Another problem that people have with really bad breath is sometimes an esophagus which has recesses where food can become trapped and will start to rot. It could also be that he changed some other routine after he started to use mouthwash. Has he done this more than once? It could also be that he refrained from breathing heavily around people because he thought his breath smelled, but after using the mouth wash, he had false confidence. The truth is that mouthwash does not keep the bad breath away for long, and since it does not dry out the mouth, the bacteria will quickly repopulate in this warm moist area!!!

Does he munch ass as well?

As a matter of fact he does.

This is an old paper that is only describing that there are differences in the efficacy of the different mouthrinses. I would recommend your friend brush his teeth after munching ass and then switching to another mouth rinse and t make it even more effective, chase it with a schnapps tongue.gif !

An in vivo comparison of antimicrobial activities of four commercial mouthwashes.

Ciuffreda L Jr, Boylan R, Scherer W, Palat M, Bacchi A.

New York University College of Dentistry, New York, USA.

The purpose of this in vivo double-blind study was to determine and compare the antimicrobial effectiveness of four commercial over-the-counter mouthwashes and a water control. Two of the products tested contained alcohol (Listerine and Scope) and two products were alcohol-free (Rembrandt Mouth Refreshing Rincs and Clear Choice). The antimicrobial efficacy of the products was determined against aerobic, microaerophilic, and anaerobic bacteria in saliva. Thirty human subjects participated in the study. At each experimental session for a given subject, a pretest saliva sample was taken. This sample was divided and used to grow three bacteria cultures under the different incubation environments. After giving the pretest sample, the subject rinsed with one of the commercial mouthwashes or the water control for 30 seconds, then waited one hour at which time a posttest saliva sample was collected. Again, the sample was divided and used to culture the different type of bacteria. Following a 48-hour incubation period, the numbers of microbial colonies on each plate were counted and compared. The results indicated that all of the mouthwashes tested performed significantly better than the water control. Both of the non-alcohol-containing products showed efficacy in inhibiting aerobic, microaerophilic, and anaerobic bacteria. Rembrandt Mouth Refreshing Rinse and Listerine inhibited all three types of bacteria, and were not significantly different from each other in efficacy. The Rembrandt mouth wash inhibited all three types of bacteria more effectively than Clear Choice mouthwash, and inhibited two of the three types of bacteria more effectively than Scope mouthwash.
