Post your Alma Mater

Where did (or do) TTers go to school?

In the spirit of Perdido's home-town webpage and the March-Madness college basketball frenzy, post your Alma Mater's webpage. Let's see if there are any TTers out there who went to the same University or College:

I attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, officialy graduating in February 2003, although I walked 9 months earlier.

I had an excellent time at UMass, aka ZooMass. It's an excellent school with the resources of a major research university with a classic liberal arts focus. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and wish I were still a student (grad school, here I come... eventually)!

So : the choice I have made
May seem strange to you
But who asked you, anyway ?
It's my life to wreck
My own way
You see : to someone, somewhere, oh yeah ...
Alma matters
In mind, body and soul
In part, and in whole
Because to someone, somewhere, oh yeah ...
Alma matters
In mind, body and soul
In part, and in whole
So the life I have made
May seem wrong to you
But, I've never been surer
It's my life to ruin
My own way
You see : to someone, somewhere, oh yeah ...
Alma matters
In mind, body and soul
In part, and in whole
Because to someone, somewhere, oh yeah ...
Alma matters
In mind, body and soul
In part, and in whole
To someone, somewhere, oh yeah ...
Alma matters
In mind, body and soul
Part, and in whole
So to someone, somewhere, oh yeah ...
Alma matters
In mind, body and soul
Part, and in whole
To someone, somewhere, oh yeah ...
Oh yeah ...
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Oh yeah ...

Alma Mater
On a Hallowed hill in Tennessee
Like Beacon shining bright
The stately walls of old U.T.
Rise glorious to the sight.

So here's to you old Tennessee,
Our Alma Mater true
We pledge in love and harmony
Our loyalty to you.

The Johns Hopkins Ode: Veritas Vos Liberabit

1. Truth guide our university,
And from all error keep her free,
Let wisdom yield her choicest treasure,
And freedom reach her fullest measure;
O, let her watchword ever be:
The truth of God will make you free,
Will make you free!

2. Let knowledge grow from more to more,
And scholars versed in deepest lore
Their souls for light forever burning,
Send forth their fire, unlock their learning;
And let their faithful teaching be:
The truth alone can make us free,
Can make us free!

3. The truth shall crown her sons with fame,
Their lives inspire with nobler aim,
Their names make known thruout her borders,
As learning's guide and wisdom's warders;
Then let their watchword ever be:
The truth for aye shall keep us free,
Shall keep us free!

Tennessee Tech University

A small State University in Middle-of-No-Fucking-Where, Tennessee with enrollment just under 10,000 students. Known for it's award winning Engineering and Business Schools.

LOL...just looked up the town's population and it's around 25,000...roughly 40% of the town's total populatio is college students. Oh yeah, and it's in a dry county. Nearest liquor store a 40+ minute drive! What the hell was I thinking to follow the asshole , er, I mean, ex-husband there.

Where I spent most of my time: Johnson Hall (the business school which was actually named for a very very distant relative of my father)

Well, this is JHU's fight song and it is stupid, but then again all they play and are any good at is Lacrosse. I didn't go there for the sports.

To win, to win,
You'd like like Hell to win.
But you'll have to wait,
'Til the moon turns green,
And the Brass Band plays "God Shave the Dean!"
Hi-lo, Hi-lee,
It's plain as A-B-C,
If anyone's going to win today,
It's we, we, we!

University of Stellenbosch. Centre of the South African wine district. Half an hours drive away from Cape Town and the sea. Surrounded by mountains and vineyards. Some of the most picturesque landscape SA has to offer, best alcohol and student prices and you could walk home after a night out. And the most beautiful women in SA! I obviously didn't go for studying!

Yep. Sounds similar except you have skiing and we have surfing. Hiking, mountain-biking, canoeing, hang-gliding, mountain climbing, it's all there in the western Cape. Heaven on earth. Maybe Boulder is the same. You've just added it to my list of things to do!

I had a friend who did a Phd at UVA. But even she would never claimn it was 'THE' University after her undergraduate degree at Oxford. Americans can't compete with the intellectual superiority and snobbery of us Brits.

Oh, man, I wish I'd never looked at the website for my undergrad Institution of Higher Learning. Was subjected to front-page link to story called Students Seek to Buy Cow for Charity. Very impressive!

I've got a BM from Illinois Wesleyan University ,

and a MM from University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Also did some courses at Colorado State University.

I'm not going to post my list of universities because I can't be arsed, but suffice to say that I'm fucking clever.

You'd be fucking clever NOT to go to Illinois Wesleyan, Jimbo. I mean, it's a good school'n'all, but while I was at their website, I decided to have a look at the tuition these days.

$29,000 a year.

Wesleyan? I can't even fucking pronounce it. I'm sure it's lovely though. At those prices it wants to be.
