I was wittering on another thread about needing some product shots taken for my website. As you can guess this is a HUGE market because everyone with new internet products needs product shots for their websites!

There is a company I know for example in the UK that does just that for you:

http://www.packshotfactory.co.uk/

Anyway - you can also buy nifty little gadgets to get the correct lighting as here:

http://www.emedigital.co.uk/index.htm

or I suggest the cheapskates version here:

http://www.ephotomaker.co.uk/

Then all you need is a decent digital camera etc. Nice thing is even if you are numpty, if you keep trying and adjusting you will get the shots correct I think!!!

I suspect the trickiest part of the equation will be finding your clients, but might get some bits and pieces off me to start you going!

You're not still using old fashioned cameras? biggrin.gif

As most stuff today is designed in CAD anyway, you simply export the model into a decent renderer and use those images for your website. Saves having to buy/hire expensive lighting and camera equipment / people.

see here for an example

Most stuff today is designed in CAD?? Do what??? What percentage of products do you think are designed in CAD?

I can just imagine calling my suppliers and asking nicely for a CAD rendering.

Back in the real world...

Edit: Although those LEGO renders are damn good!

Anything that is mass-produced will exist in 3D model form somewhere, hence most of the "stuff" out there biggrin.gif

But yeh, depends what you're selling... may not be appropiate.
