Beer gardens street cafes & bars will stay open for food and drinks until 1am from 8th June to 13th July.

The Bavarian Staatsregierung has decided to go one better than the Bundeskabinett, which decided on Wednesday to allow extended opening hours to all premises showing football games. The Bavarian environment minister today announced a "simple and un-bureaucratic regulation" allowing ANY beer garden, street cafe/bar to remain open until 1am.

While revellers should continue to have consideration for those living in the vicinity, it is also hoped that the latter should show greater understanding.

Hang on a minute (pulls on the brakes)..

I was always led to believe that with a bar you could open up to 23 hrs a day as long as you didnt distrub your neighboors etc. Beer gardens always had to shut by 11pm or midnight.

So how does this ruling affect the bars? Anyone experts on the KVR want to ellaborate?

My tuppence... this ruling applies to bars that wish to have tables outside. Now, instead of dragging punters indoors at 11pm or midnight, the landlords can wait till 01:00.

@poots - places like the Neuhausen wassermann with the tables outside will no longer have to drag you inside at 11pm (although I guess they might decide that they want to, in the interests of neighbourly relations)

They never dragged me inside only ever kicked me out
