Shirt sizes in Germany

How to convert them to inches

I keep facing this problem every now and then. Something like 50 fits me, so does 100 or so. And then 25 is just a bit small. If someone could help me out of this dilemma a free beer is on the way.

50 would be the normal sizes, 100 would be equivalent to 50 except in a tall version and 25 is equivalent just the short version.

Did you try using the search: for example

Horrible. I used the search with the words shirt sizes. Didn't get any results except for the fact that a lot of people are interested in shopping. cool.gif

Edit: I actually searched clothes sizes

Try just the word 'sizes'. If at first you don't succeed, search, search again. Or buy a parrot with no teeth.

Now searching for the parrot with no teeth. ph34r.gif

What do you mean when you say "shirt size"? The size of the neck? The chest?

I find that most shirts here do have the neck size in inches.
Owain Glyndwr
the thread title and the post seems to be confusing shirt sizes with suit sizes. "50" is a suit size not a shirt size.

Shirt sizes will be done by collar size, so take your usual size in inches in and times by 2,54 and then round. A 15" 1/2 is about a 39/40. A 16" is a 41.

Actually, no they don't, I'm talking bollocks. They're usually in CM. Not quite sure where I got the idea that I have a 39 inch neck.

Use the handy formula posted by OG (perhaps take a pocket calculator when you go shopping) to convert the size to inches.

Or maybe use a tape measure to measure your neck before you go shopping. smile.gif

Or get them made "bespoke". Very good prices from a tailor I can recommmend (almost as cheap as buying from the normal stores), if its any help.
