So i ventured into the city thismorning and for the very first time since ive been here i had no access to the company car so i had to use the public transport... Haaaaaaaa actually very simple to use... however wots with the Escalators going so slow...I laughed my way down whilst riding it. I thought they were slow in Vienna but you should go to Prague... You literally have to jump on and you fly down tot he platform... i almost stacked it last year whilst trying to jump on a step..

naja anyway...cheers to all... ohmy.gif

Its amazing that people still stop the moment that they get off the escalator as well when they have had all of that time to think about where they are going!
grtho
Yeah, they are slower than in Prague or JESUS... Budapest! blink.gif

BTW, Munich City Council is the largest escalator operator in the whole of Europe and I heard that the electricity bill for running the escalators is HIGHER than that of running the U-Bahn trains!

some ppl get badly on the slow escalators.
Imagine if they'd run faster... biggrin.gif

My personal escalator wasn't even moving when I went arse over tit.

I'm getting a lot of mileage out of this photo lately smile.gif

What gets me is that the rubber railing moves at a slightly faster speed than the steps. I thought I was going crazy at first with the ground tilting up slightly and my arm stretching out.
They need to get those things timed up properly.

Also the ones which instead of a rubber railing have what looks like a set of interlocking Lego bricks. They have them on some of the escalators in Hertie. Anyways they're quite flimsy and kids mess by pulling the hand rail back and forth very quickly. I saw an old woman once almost fall down the stairs because the little bastards were messing and she lost her balance. Grrr.

just an idea..you should only be allowed to use them if you are over 55+ and/or have a medical disposition..

being sh1tfaced dont count.

@flogger

Well, if you go on an escalator in the Kyiv (Ukraine) or Moscow (Russia) underground, you can actually spend time sitting on the steps having a picnic, or read a book from cover to cover, or tell your life story to the chap in front, or (ladies) carefully and perfectly apply makeup, or pick ALL the fleas off of your dog, or learn a whole new language (Japanese?), or watch your children grow, or...

(P.S. OUCH - Keydeck!!! ohmy.gif )

Thanks for mentioning the Budapest escalators!! I never noticed how damn slow they were here, til I went on the ones there...they are SOOOOO fast...bam bam and you're there..utter torture getting once again acclimated to the sluggish pace of the munich ones. Now it's faster to take the stairs..
