Every Friday from 6 till 7:30 pm we play indoor five-a-side football at the Socca5 hall near the Olympic Stadium in Munich. The games run from 9 October, 2009 till 30 April, 2010 and exclude the Christmas and Easter holidays. Details of the place can be found at the above website, but basic directions are as follows:
Take the U3 to the Olympiapark U-Bahn station and head for the stadium as you leave. Cross over the bridge and then look for the building on your left. It is clearly signposted (Socca5 Füssball Halle), so don’t worry about missing it. We always play on one of the bigger pitches, and we're normally the ones playing in a wide variety of club and international footy shirts. Just ask the guy who works there if you can’t find us.
12 regular players have paid €150 upfront for 26 games. This gives us two teams of five, and two subs. We rotate subs frequently to keep the players and the games fresh. 12 is the maximum each week. When a regular player is not able to make it, this will be detailed on the sign-up sheet and you should register your interest in taking his place by sending me a PM.
We already have several regular substitutes but are always on the lookout for last minute replacements. Please contact me via PM if you need any further information on any of this. The subs are expected to contribute €6.50 for the game to cover the costs of the pitch.
The players list will be activated every Monday morning and all regular players are required to confirm their availability by Thursday at the very latest. Wannabe subs should register their interest with me each week as early as possible.
The games are played in a good spirit and the only equipment required is a decent pair of indoor sports shoes, shorts and a T-shirt. Shin pads are worn by some but not a requirement by any means.
