Dr. Weller - English-speaking dental practice

Located in Munich Neuhausen
Praxis Weller
The dental practice of Dr. Rainer Weller is located in Munich-Neuhausen, at Lazarettstrasse 2. This is very close to the Mailingerstrasse U-Bahn station, just a couple of blocks away from Cinema München.

This is a very friendly dental practice. They are sensitive to those who fear dentists, and they also speak English.

Great, if you can get past the receptionist who doesn't speak English!

In reference to the previous post, please consider that all staff at Praxis Weller are native German, and that it may be difficult to communicate in English at times, especially over the phone. That said, I'm the receptionist here at Praxis Weller and will do my best to communicate in the language of our English speaking patients. Best regards - Angie Baudrexl at Praxis Weller

I can't recommend this dentist enough... not just that they speak English, but they are extremely friendly and professional.

That said after spending around 4 hours there today.

I hate dentists, everything about them, cant even watch things in TV or movies with anything involving dentists or teeth.

However, Praxis Weller are great at what they do and the receptionist DOES speak English and the dentists are very good at their job indeed. Have had to go through 6 fillings this past couple of months, never felt a single thing for any of them.

@3Lions- I know what you mean...I used to be a wreck at the thought of having to go to the dentist... now it's something I'm totally comfortable with.

Personal Change gets rid of these types of phobias (dogs, heights, crowds etc) usually with one session.

I can also recommend them. They accomodate quickly if needed and are VERY friendly...and the dentist's visit was painless...what more can you ask for?!!!

I have to give my recommendation too. I was there last week to have a wisdom tooth pulled and was there just this morning for a check-up to make sure everything was fine. Dr. Weller and his staff are very friendly and accomodating and it was actually a pleasant experience, even though a tooth removal isn't the nicest experience in itself.

Props to Claudia and Nicole for being so nice and making the experience as comfortable as it could be.

I also have to say Dr. Weller's office was great. We haven't been to the dentist in over 3 years b/c we had so many bad experiences with dentists where we used to live (north Dallas, TX).

Dr. Weller and his staff saw to me, my husband, and our 2 y/o daughter in less than an hour - even with my husband getting x-rays and a temporary crown. The cleaning process was quick and painless, and everyone spoke good English. Dr. Weller and his staff were especially kind and patient with our daughter - she couldn't have had a more pleasant first experience at the dentist.

I would like to have an idea of how much they charge... say for a cleaning?
Anwalt
I haven't had my teeth cleaned there yet, but I did have a wisdom tooth pulled, which, in theory, is much more involved than teeth cleaning. The bill came out to be a whopping €95.

My previous dentist here in Munich had charged me about €200 for teeth cleaning. That was for a simple cleaning with no cavities, fillings or the like.

Of course, your insurance should cover the bill anyway.

Oh, it can be smile.gif - I had two wisdom teeth removed in '99. They asked me if I wanted to be 'completely under' or just a local. I said 'completely under' please. I walked into the room at 10:35, they made me comfortable, stuck a needle in my arm, asked me a question and I have no idea if I answered it. They woke me up 25 minutes later and I walked out of the office 10 minutes after getting instructions. Never had any pain, no swelling, etc. Didn't even need the painkillers. But the best part was that I did not have the experience of getting a tooth removed with all the accompanying sounds, etc. It was wonderful.

My tooth removal wasn't a bad experience either, even with only a local.

After Dr. Weller got done with his speech about how this would be the most unpleasant experience of my life, the teeth in the jaw are the hardest to remove, that it could last anywhere from 2 minutes to over an hour, yada, yada, yada, my tooth popped out within the first 30 seconds. No unpleasant grinding noises or anything.

I can only recommend this practice - really friendy and professional and really feel looked after in there. Don't feel lika just another patient.

Has anyone had any dental work done at Praxis Weller? I have seen this dental practice advertised in the paid adverts and am looking for a good dentist (probably for an extraction if my dentist in UK was correct). I have tried the search function but can't find anything specific to this practice. Any info would be much appreciated. Is it only a local anaesthetic for extractions here or is anything else available - she asks hopefully!

Unfortunately I contacted this dentist last week for some treatment and they have still not replied to my queries. Quite unprofessional and in the meantime I have had it done at The Munich Dental Clinic.

Last year I had 4 crowns done at Dr Weller and the best dental experience I've had.

The receptionst isn't too confident with English so this might be the reason for delay... but they are extremely friendly and did a great job.

I had a tooth removed at this clinic earlier this year and they were great, Dr Weller couldn't have been more patient with me, as I was terrified, and the receptionist and dental nurses were kindness themselves. My husband is going there next week. Will let you know how he gets on.

Praxis Weller is AWESOME. Dr. Weller is a super nice guy and a great dentist (he's also a huge fan of airplane and spaceflight which is an automatic indicator of coolness). I just had my teeth cleaned there and it was as pleasant an experience as it could possibly be.
