Thanks!!

And they're now slipping perilously closer to the relegation zone. They were top of the table at the beginning of the season.

They're probably not feeling at home in their new, over-sized stadium.

1860 will surely have the fanciest stadium of the 2nd division. Wildmoser did a great job of messing up a club with loyal fans and a down-home taste and turning it into a FC Bayern Light.

3. Bundesliga, you mean? They already have the fanciest stadium in the 2nd division!
Jeeves
There is no 3. BL.
Below the second comes the Regionalliga which is split into north and south.
Doesn't invalidate your point however.

Oh boy, that's even worse than I feared. TSV 1860 München Vs. Lenggries, anyone?

0-1. it was quite a comedy goal too.

that pitch is terrible. I think a new one is being laid this week though

They haven't won a game at home since 5th October 2005!!! Went to watch them a couple of weeks ago it was honestly painful!!

Yeah, my bad. I meant Bayernliga. Why stop in the Regionalliga Süd? Get back to your roots, men!

WebsiteSpeak: The club's president, Karl Auer, resigned yesterday due to ill health and is now in the hospital being subjected to various trials and tests regarding hypertonia.
RealSpeak: The club's president, Karl Auer, has chickened out of his responsibility towards the club after one board member and the vice-president left - as they refused to cover up Auer's incompentent management and management team's efforts to avoid bankruptcy -, and after the financial manager was sacked, but it turns out that the board knew of the drastic financial situation in July 2005 after all, and is now incommunicando for the board, the press, the German Soccer Association and other investigating entities.
I wonder if anyone has told him about the newest bribe reports.

As a long-time fan, things can't be worse for 1860.

Failure to score goals, 11 straight games without a win, top scorer Kolomaznik injured, possible bankruptcy, Auer steps down(could be a good thing, though) and now that horrible TZ article implicating Agostino and Lanzaat (hopefully falsely) in the betting scandal.

If they don't stay up in the 2. Liga, it's Oberliga (or worse) for them.

TSV 1860 München won their match against fellow strugglers 1.FC Saarbrücken yesterday afternoon 1-0. This means that, with one game left, 1860 are now safe from relegation. Hardly anything to be proud of, but relegation would have been a disaster, so big relief all around.

The result simultaneously seals Saarbrücken's fate. They will be playing in the Regional League next season. The decisive match set an audience record for 1860 München - 60,000 fans turned up to watch the match. This is an enormous number for a second division team.
