Sports bars - Munich

I'm an American baskeball player wondering which Munich bars or pubs are most popular for sports fans. I am aware of the expat places in Schwabing and have them on my agenda. But I was wondering if there are also options that draw more locals? Has anyone found places like that that also welcome non-Bavarians.

Marriot hotel has Champions American Sports Bar. Very International being a hotel. Cool place although I've only ever been there for thanksgiving.

depends on what sports you want to see. If its soccer then there will of course be lots of bars full of locals showing it. But I assume you're more interested in basketball, hockey, football etc...?

Actually, I am more interested in bars where soccer fans go either before or after the games. Any ideas would be welcome.

This may sound redundant, but are you talking about the soccer league now or are you wondering where to go for the World Cup. Two separate agendas and two separate crowds. Just to clarify since it is so close.

Tips for both would be great. I come to town every once and a while and would like a good soccer hangout that is locally oriented. (My German is not perfect but okay.) I'll also be there for the World Cup stuff and probably would want to hang out then, too.

well my 'local' where I go to bond with the Germans a bit over a game of soccer is Antons. Its not especially central (Neuhausen) and I've no idea if it is good or bad in terms of Munich, but you may find a few places in this directory of Munich sports bars
