Signs of spring and the coming football world cup are starting to pop up all over Munich.

I just spotted the "Fußball Globus" on the north side of the Rathaus in Marienplatz. The Big Ball just rolled in from Stuttgart, where it attracted over 56,000 visitors in just over a month.

FG will be in Munich from 13th March 13th til 7th May 2006. It offers visitors an interactive tour of the art and culture of football.

Anyone been inside this yet? If so, what's it like? Worth a visit or shouldn't we bother? And is there an entrance fee?

Stopped by last night, but the security out front said it was closed. According to them, inside is an international football museum and it's open from 7:00-20:00 daily. They didn't mention an entrance fee, but I also didn't ask about it.

There is an entrance fee, or at least that's what it said on the board that I saw outside a week ago: I think it said €2 for adults and €1 for children over ten, something like that. That evening there seemed to be some sort of special event (inauguration?).

The globe looks very nice when lit up, but I have no idea what it's like inside.

I was in this FG while it was still in Stuttgart. You must pay an entrance fee, which I think was 2 EUR for adults. It is really nothing spectacular. You can watch several videos with famous goals/happenings in previous world cups and some facts about the countries, and the children are allowed to take part in a virtual game.

I would say it is ok to visit it if you pass by, but I wouldn't go to Marienplatz only for that.
