It’s about time I contributed a bit more than asking to go along to curry nights etc. So, here’s my opinion on the “easy living hotel in Giesing.
I stayed there for two weeks until yesterday.
The impression it gives on its website is very different to the reality. And I’ve experienced close matches on hotel companies’ web-sites to their actual hotel.
First of all the kitchenette is almost a complete waste of time. I had three frying pans. But no saucepans and nothing with a lid on it.
Then the beds. I had two single beds in my room and I tried them both (well I like to get my money’s worth).
Both did the same thing. Partially collapse.
The slats under the mattresses were made of wood and slightly springy. They kept jumping out of their holders causing the bed to slump.
Readers of this forum will no doubt snigger but unfortunately this was nothing to do with any, er, enjoyable activities. The act of lying down on the bed was sufficient to dislocate the slats. For once I was relieved that I hadn’t brought any girl back.
I also found that the hotel was only manned by staff during some of the time and not at the weekends. For moving in, I was told to find the key in the door and to ask cleaning staff for assistance if necessary (though I was given a handy number of the manager).
Although seldom there, this manger was very pleasant and helpful.
She lent me what appears to be the only iron and ironing board they had. The cover of the ironing boards couldn’t be attached to the board.
Oh, and one of the washing machines failed to spin properly and leaked. OK, I could have mentioned that but my Bayern Deutsche wasn’t up to it and I had kinda given up by then.
Value for money? Actually quite high as it is rather cheap. I’m in a significantly more expensive hotel in Schwabing but it’s much better. Plus, it’s in a nice area.
So, I wouldn’t say don’t go to the “easy living hotel in Munich, just beware that it’s not as good as it would appear.
