OVF is a good thing I think, but I would suggest that Democrats and other voters wait for the Democrats Abroad Voter Reg website to appear shortly. We will be able to give you specific info on your local elections if you so choose. I was a member of OVF and was told that my services were no longer needed because I asked questions about who was involved and what status that they had at that time.

I'd rather see someone register with OVF than not at all, despite whatever may happen behind the scenes (and I suspect what happened).
To be fair, Dems Abroad here are non-partisan about registering voters. I myself registered three die-hard republicans (one from Texas) and smiled while doing so.
I am not as much concerned about how people vote (assuming they have at least given a second of thought about it) than THAT they vote - or at least try.
It scares me more when people say - why should I bother, it doesn't matter, who cares, we're all suppressed and repressed - then you are suppressing yourself.
DDBug - from a "Republican or Die" state that had a really cool democrat Governor when I left.
