Breaking news!

The first case of bird flu is here and its bloody near!

Driving back from Brauneck this afternoon we saw a police car blue flashing light putting up a sign "Sperrgebiet" - this means quarantine zone.

Pass auf everyone!

Dont forget the Wise Words of Crawlie..

If you see a dead Policeman.. Dont play with it!
Redneck
Well thats only about 6km closer to Munich. Sachsenkam is about 6km north east of Bad Tolz where they found birdflu just last week.
Crawlie
Amen Grinner.

Look. For the safety of everyone here. Do not play with dead things at all, ever. Unless they are cooked properly

There's this guy in England who only eats roadkill. He just published his roadkill cookbook. He's been doing it for 20 years already.
PES
this?

MajorBummer
Don't know, read about it in the papers a few days ago. I suppose it would be, yes.
cinzia
I'd say if it's road kill, it's probably OK to eat, unless it's a bird or a cat. At least it didn't die of bird flu!

Guten!
moffy
well does anyone know if there is an outbreak in germany, if the government has obtained any vacine against it or what is there plan? wink.gif
Grinner
I dont think there is a Vaccine for roadkill.. it seems pretty Terminal to me!
moffy

Grinner
I wasnt being sarcastic..

It has broken out here! And you made comment about Vaccine after a road kill Posting!!

Anyway, how is life in Hamburg?
moffy
life is good. so what are your plans when there is an outbreak of bird flu. i believe that it will become a very big question on everyone mind?
Grinner
Probably carry on as usual..
grazzenger
afaik, it is here. but as i'm far more lileky to die in a car crash than contract bird flu, i'll not worry unduly about it now. if it turns into the plague, then we're all fucked anyway.

I worry about traffic accidents a lot, so it wouldn't console me to think that I'm more likely to die in a car crash, if that were true.

It's also not necessarily true that we're all fucked if it turns into a plague; all of us are descended from plague survivors, or at least people who had offspring before dieing, and whose off-spring continued that tradition.

One precaution I have heard about is to avoid shaking hands and to offer to touch elbows instead.

I'm going to buy a lottery ticket:

Lottery win more likely than bird flu - The Times

QUOTE
THE chances of a British person falling ill with avian flu will be as low as 1 in 100 million even if the virus infects birds in Britain, the Government’s chief scientist said yesterday.
