Netgear wireless adapter

Ok, I bought this adapter b/c it says it is easy, works with XP and is fast blah blah blah... now the adapter can see the the SSID but will not connect to it... what in the world is going on??? Has anyone also had this problem... I read some internet sites but have no clue how to go in and fix it... the netgear adapter is WPNT511 and the Router is SMC Barricade...

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated :-))

ounds like there could be some Encryption involved somewhere..

Turn off all security on your router, remove all WiFi profiles from your PC. Re-boot both and start again.
