Excellent! Thanks!
What's the topic for today's Stitch & Bitch ladies? Shaved testicles or abortion?

Technique??? When, or indeed, are you starting up again. It was a fun idea. My crochet needle and yarn are on the shelf waiting. I'll be delighted to give some tips on technique. Miaow.

Stitch and Bitch today at 4 with the bookswap
Hello Tex,
Just wanted to say I've been intending to turn up at the TwiBa to keep my support for your efforts in the pipelines, but it has been hard to get away right now. It's getting better and better at your place, if that is possible! (i.e. Stich 'n Bitch, BookSwap etc) and according to all the raves in Toytown the food is beyond excellent. Keep on truckin' lady, will turn up again, one of these days. Ciao

I guess if you like grumpy women bearing long pointy instruments of creation (or destruction), then go for it.

Wouldn't you like us to knit you some bedsocks? Or, better still, I'll teach you to knit your own.

Perhaps the smartest of our customer's are the men who come hang out at the bar on Sunday afternoons. They get to scarves knitted for them while drinking beer and the women who stitch & bitch are babes!

Jan 23 2005, 2:01 pm
Can a married guy get a scarf and just look at the babes?
TexasTornado
Jan 23 2005, 3:52 pm
Yes, but you must bring Ian along to flirt with the girls.

Eurovol, if you bring Ian along between 3 and 5, Eirik will also be in attendance

Hi everyone,
I have a question along this topic. I need to buy a utensil but am not sure what it's called in English and German. It's for picking at stitches to undo them, or cut through them. (I need to undo a hem, and scissors are too fiddly for the small stitches).
I need to buy one after work today!
Thanks

If I'd known about this I would never have agreed to move to the suburbs. Dang! Is this every Sunday? Could I just show up, if there were ever a Sunday when I was in Munich? Incidentally, I have inherited knitting stuff from 3 or 4 relatives who've given it up, and I also have leftover yarn from 10 years' worth of finished (and unfinished) projects. Free for the asking.

You may come out any Sunday at 15:00 there are usually knitter's in the house. As for yarn, PLEASE! I forget each week and then sit there with a long face as everyone stitches and all I get to do is bitch.

I just thought I would revive this thread to invite those of you who normally participate in the Stitch & Bitch session to join the
jewelry making event that has been scheduled to coincide with March 20th's S&B. Same place, same time - just more crafts. Nicky and I will have plenty of supplies available to make necklaces and matching earrings, if you so desire. Hope to see you there!

I will be there this Sunday, always assuming I can find the Twisted Bavarian (serious navigational issues here). Now, I would never, ever give up knitting altogether, but I am thinking of slimming the operation down a bit, since I have duplicates of nearly everything, and loads of leftover yarn that I will never use. Did someone say they wanted stuff to practice on? All requests will be considered. I would just bring everything, dump it on the floor and let everybody take what they want, but unfortunately, I can't carry it all.
Also, I might be a bit late, since I'm going to go see Hitch at the Cinema first. Anybody else?

Oh, I'm definitely interested in learning how to knit. I've never done it before, so I wouldn't really know where to start. I'd love it if you'd share some of your supplies. I suppose any Earth-tone color is good for me. I'm happy to do a swap for some jewelry-making supplies, too, if you're interested.
alala
Mar 15 2005, 5:25 pm
Well, I have never successfully taught anyone to knit, but I'm willing to give it another whack. I'm all excited to see you and the others making jewelry, that'll be interesting. But I think I'd better not swap, as my mission here is to get rid of stuff, without acquiring more. Let's see if I can maintain my resolve.
Going to the basement to look for some earth-tone yarn...

Michelle and Uta are our regular knitting instructors and they have both told me to give it up. Apparently I have not talent.
@IPJ I am interested in buying supplies for jewelry making so bring all your goodies.

I'll have a whole crate of supplies there - beads, clasps, beading wire, earwires, etc. - so no problem there.

I'll come along. Just felt stupid sitting there at the bar on my own and eating too much. Would be nice to know that someone else was going on a given Sunday, though? Perhaps we should say on this thread if we are going?

I want to come and knit! Sorry about last Sunday, I went to Starnberg instead. (taking advantage of the sunny weather)

But I should be around this Sunday...
This Sunday the weather's supposed to be terrible and rainy, so bring your stuff in plastic bags.
Just to be on topic, the TwiBa website's been stitched up too, anyone want to bitch about it? Ha ha ha!

Hey, I am from the States and have been knitting since I was just a young thing! I have already been here for 2 months and have been trying to find knitting stores but they have thus far eluded me. Is the stitch and bitch still active and running for today? I would love to join you folks, and possibly get hints of where to go by some yarn as well.
thanks!
