Ok, I will be there on Sunday this week. I'll be bringing along a few quilting books, since there seems to be increasing interest.

edit: I forgot to mention that I picked up a book called "Knitting with fabric" if anyone's interested in taking a look at it.

Okay, just want to throw this in...but anyone interested in going to Michael Bublé's concert in October with me?

SnBers, I'd been trying to ring up Cafe Mondial to reserve a table the whole day today, but they're not answering the phone. Don't know what's happening. I'll pop around tomorrow to see if there's anything and will keep you posted just in case we might have to drop the meeting this week. So, check back to see if there's any change.

@SnBers, Stitch 'n Bitch session for Sunday 3rd June 2007 takes place as normal. See y'all tomorrow.
(Apparently Cafe Mondial was having some renovation done this week and the worker accidentally cut off the phone line...*LOL*)

@regan, Cashyie should be here, but kks won't, her folks are in town.
I'm coming this afternoon, see you soon.

*Woohoo!!!*
The article on Brigitte.de that I gave the interview for is now up online! Go and read it
HERE (in German).
This Saturday is
World Wide Knit In Public Day (WWKIP-Day), since most of you guys are away, I'm just going to do something impromptu, here's what I have in mind:
Meet at
Odeonsplatz (at the Feldherrnhalle - that huge Logia monument thingee) at 11 a.m. And we can decide where we want to go. I'm thinking about
English garden (
Seehaus) if the weather's nice out. If not, we can decide to go to a cafe from there on! Hope to see you lots there. Please tell me if you're coming!
And sign-up for Sunday!

Jun 7 2007, 8:02 pm
I'd come on Saturday, but only if it's close to my house... have some work to do and not too much time. And I don't want to spend the time I have in the U-Bahn... that's why I'm suggesting Café Marais, Parkstrasse 2, in Westend (at least for a little while).
Here is an article on the café (in German), with a picture. There's also a Strassenfest going on in Westend on Saturday.
What do you guys think?
Elemmaciltur
Jun 7 2007, 8:06 pm
@Regan, can't, because we've announced it on the podcast...so the meeting place have to be central...besides, it should be where EVERYBODY can see us.
regan
Jun 7 2007, 9:47 pm
I didn't mean the meeting place should change. You said something about going to a café after meeting at
Odeonsplatz, so I thought why not there? The weather forecast says sunshine for Saturday, so we could sit outside the place.
Elemmaciltur
Jun 8 2007, 9:35 am
@
regan, well the cafe's not central...because we want [i]everybody[/b], like random people walking downtown seeing us. I think we're just going to go sit and knit at the steps of Feldherrnhalle.
regan
Jun 8 2007, 9:43 am
What time are you meeting now anyways? Your post says 11, the podcast says 11.30. And do you really plan on staying at Feldherrnhalle? I mean, it's a good meeting place because it's central, but it's probably not the most comfortable place to sit and knit for a few hours.
Elemmaciltur
Jun 8 2007, 9:53 am
@regan, we'll meet at 11.30 a.m. We'll try the Feldherrnhalle first...but maybe we'll move to somewhere else.
Elemmaciltur
Jun 9 2007, 12:10 am
Can't sleep...
Anyway, WWKIP-Day, 09th June 2007...if anybody cares at all. I'll be waiting for whoever wants to come at
Odeonsplatz, in front of the Theatinerkirche, at 11.30 a.m. We'll decide where we'd want to go from there, since there's something on the Odeonsplatz as well as the Schwabinger Street Life Festival.

Started: 11th May 2007
Finished: 09th June 2007
Needles: 3 mm / 60 cm Inox circs
Yarn: Rohrspatz & Wollmeise sock yarn, "Drachenblut"
Pattern: Clementine Shawlette by Michele Rose Orne from
Interweave KNITS Spring 2007I used about 0.75 of the yarn, so I still have a quite a bit left. The pattern said that it should be blocked lightly to the size of 10 3/4" wide and 57 1/4" long. However, I totally blocked it out and I get 13" wide and 71" long...I quite like it blocked out like this. ;-)

I am all set - I have two knitting projects going at the moment (haven't gotten much done lately because I don't seem to knit much in the heat). Thank you very much for offering though. I will see you Sunday!

SnBers, tomorrow we'll have to probably sit in another corner of Cafe Mondial than our usual corner, since the Cafe needs that half for a big reservation. So, when you come in, just either ask the staff where the Knitting Group is, or look around for me, I should be there on time...give or take that the block seminar session tomorrow doesn't hold surprises like today's one. See y'all tomorrow!

I slipped a disc in my spine this weekend. So that's where I was, flat on my back in bed on mega-painkillers. I don't know when I'll be able to sit up long enough to come, even. I will post a picture of the quilt top when I finish sewing it (it's being switched to hand-sewing so I can work on it while I'm laid up), if I can get ahold of a digital camera.

Hi! I'm new to Germany, and new to knitting, so I'd love to join. Any suggestions on where I can pick up some yarn and needles? I'm down in
Unterhaching... and haven't had the opportunity to shop much yet

Jul 4 2007, 8:06 pm
Hi Kerri,
I'd suggest Wolle Rödel, on Rosental 9 near the
Viktualienmarkt. That's where I started out. I'll be in Munich tomorrow if you want to meet up and go check it out.
kerri416
Jul 4 2007, 8:37 pm
That sounds great, depending on how late it's open... I'm stuck in a training class until probably 5:30 in Oberhaching. Is the store open after 6?

kerri416, The LYSs here are opened until 7 p.m. So, if you can jet back down to Munich fast enough, you should have a bit of time left for the LYS. If not, I'm usually free. So, if you're interested and have time on some other days, I can organise a yarn crawl, too.

I hope to join tomorrow... as long as I manage to get my laundry done in time

Süddeutsche Zeitung today:
QUOTE
