@Bethnagus: Cool, would be great to see you there tomorrow!

SnBers: Sign up please, so that I can get some idea of how many people are turning, or isn't anybody coming at all? *sobs*
alala
I'll see you all tomorrow at the Fischbrunnen at 13:30. Hope to get to the evening impromptu SnB, but I do have to put in at least six hours of work tomorrow, so we'll see.
kks
dang it, husband has meeting so no babysitting. can't go. geez, i'm the ultimate flake! and i'm not even sure if i can make it on sunday because someone is going climbing again. i'm on the search for new babysitters.
Elemmaciltur
kks, yes, boy, you're flakey alright laugh.gif

I'll see y'all this afternoon!
regan
@kks: Did I send you my friend's email address, about the babysitting?
oh_angela
@Elemmaciltur Sorry, but won't make it to S'n'B today. Have fun and see you next week!
Elfenstar
i saw a beautiful quilt at a friends while back in the u.s. how is quilting compared to knitting?
Elemmaciltur
@Elfenstar: Oh, lawdy, I don't know a thing about quilting...but I think others here might. Maybe Aelfwynn would know.
Elemmaciltur
SnBers, I'm going to IKEA tomorrow morning. Just want to ask if anybody who's free might like to join me...regan, bonnie??

This coming Saturday (26th May), someone I know from the Lime & Violet Message Boards will be in Munich, and I probably will meet up with her to knit. Anyone care to join? It would be great! kks, simple is good??

Last thing, World Wide Knit In Public Day (WWKIP-Day) is looming ahead on Saturday 9th June! I didn't sign us up officially, but still, it would be great if we could get together and do an informal one! Please post here and let me know so that I can gauge the interest. smile.gif
kks
what time on Saturday? I may be able to swing it, but it depends on the time.

As much as I love going to Ikea, I don't really have the time. I have to go to an office hour at Uni tomorrow, and I should do some work before and afterwards. Elemm, do you think you can buy something for me? It's these glasses, I'd need two of them. I broke two a couple of weeks ago and it annoys the crap out of me that I'm short of glasses. Let me know if you can, or if not.

thanks. i didn't want to hijak your thread. the quilt just looked so pretty & it was small too, but you can't wear a quilt. mm.
Elemmaciltur
@regan: Sure, I planned to get myself some of those Pokals anyway, so yeah, I'll get you two. Bonnie, what about you?

@Elfenstar: Sorry I can't be of any help, but like I said, PM and ask Aelfwynn.
regan
@Elemm: Thanks!!! tongue.gif
Elemmaciltur
@regan: Can you tell me which Vase you've got that I can have, so that I won't buy it tomorrow?
regan
@Elemm: Sure! It's the Vasen vase wink.gif That's the larger Vasen, by the way.
I just checked, the Rektangel and Bladet ones would be nice for yarn storage, too.
Elemmaciltur
@regan: Cool, yeah, the Vasen is perfect!!! I don't think that Rektangel is suitable for my purpose...Bladet could work, but I think it's too boring. Cool, then I'll just get the vase off you then! smile.gif
Elemmaciltur
Just want to share this..

I do know a bit, and would be happy to talk about it. At length. biggrin.gif And any questions I don't immediately know the answer to, I can always ask my mother, or my godmother, or my aunt, or a friend of mine in Schweinfurt, or... and get the information pretty quickly.

Oh, yes you can! I've seen quilt vests, jackets, skirts... both pieced and quilted whole-fabric ones. I've even worn a few, although not recently.

Small simply-pieced quilts can go pretty quickly, especially if you machine-quilt them.
Elemmaciltur
@Srilatha: Well, I'm on holiday next week, so if you like, we could try and meet up during the week. I'll bring needles and yarn to teach you, so that you don't have to invest in anything yet before you actually know whether you like knitting or not. Sounds like a deal? (but if you can make it on Sunday, then come - but tell me beforehand, so that I can bring stuff for you).
Awa
so this Sunday there is no meetup? too sad...
Have a nice holiday.
I already bought something and started to practice now, thanks for all of the helps.
Aelfwynn
There is a meetup this sunday, as far as I know.
Elemmaciltur
@Awa, there is a meet-up this Sunday. My message to Srilatha was to offer her a chance to meet up during the week since she said that she can't make it on Sunday. So, go and sign up. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you this Sunday!
TalksToStrangers
eleminope, is there a yarn crawl or meet of any kind this afternoon? will be in town around 5...
Elemmaciltur
@TalksToStrangers: Nope, didn't organise anything.
TalksToStrangers
wanna knit?
Elemmaciltur
@TalksToStrangers: Ummmm...not sure if I can. Shernoh's in town...and we need to talk through a couple of stuff.
Awa
I see..., I misunderstood.
There grows a 'lump' on my left eye, not sure if tomorrow it would disappear. I prefer not to be seen before it's gone. So if it's lucky, I might can come.
Elemmaciltur
@Awa, well I sure hope it goes away and that we'll see you tomorrow! wink.gif
Awa
sorry, today I can't come, 'it' is still there. Wish you all have a nice afternoon and evening!
Elemmaciltur
@Awa, awwwww...poor you. You know, you could use your swatch as an eye-patch. Then nobody will notice. tongue.gif
regan
@Awa: Is it a stye? If so, do go and see a doctor. It's actually a harmless thing, but annoying.
Hope you get better soon!
Elemmaciltur
regan, you're still coming, right? I'm bringing your Pokals along.
regan
Yep, I'm planning on coming. Maybe not at 5 on the dot, but I should be there. Have to remind myself to bring the new Interweave Knits, and a few of the books I bought recently (I went on a crazy book shopping spree, hehe).

By the way, I have two of the first book of "Bäuerliches Stricken" and would like to sell one... so, if anyone's interested, let me know! The books are out of print and feature really nice patterns. I'll bring them with me tonight.

Elemm, should I bring the Vasen vase anyway?
Elemmaciltur
@regan, Yeah, I could use the vase nevertheless, so it'd be cool if you could bring it. BTW, how much are you selling the book for?
regan
Sure, I'll bring the vase (yay! more room at home! You've seen my place... wink.gif )
About the book - hmmm... I'd like to get what I paid for it, which was 13.50€. It's an older edition (I have to look up which year), the book cover has a few stains (only a few), and a previous owner wrote her name inside the book. Apart from that it's alright. Anyways, I'll bring it and you can have a look.
regan
Aw crap! Now this happens when the internets doesn't work... double posting.
Elemmaciltur
What double posting?
regan
I just changed it wink.gif
Elemmaciltur
Haha, okay. Well, I'm off. See you later!

I went to the link to have a look, and yes, I figure what I have the moment is a stye...today it goes better, thanks for the info. I plan to sleep more in the next days. tongue.gif
Elemmaciltur
Where are you all?? *bump*
Aelfwynn
I wasn't feeling well last weekend sad.gif I'm not sure if I'll be there this weekend, either. Soooo busy...
regan
@Elemm: The lady from the Handarbeitsstubn just called, she got my sock yarn today! Yay!
Elemmaciltur
@regan: Okay, then we're definitely there this Friday!
regan
@Elemm: did you get my email? Is Friday at 5 okay for you?
Elemmaciltur
@regan: Sure, where should we meet?
regan
@Elemm: at U-Bahn Fraunhoferstrasse? Is that good for you?
