elemcatgatrog, there were about 8 or 9 of us last sunday; so much for sticking to the 6 in the reservation. luckily it wasnt too overcrowded for the live music thing, so we managed to steal an extra table
poor crook chook hope you all get well soon.

Oh, and I reserved for eight at Cafe Mondial for this Sunday...they're having an all you can eat prawn night for EUR 10 with live music...and I'll be having a guest with me.

Mar 21 2007, 2:22 pm
I was planning on it --and looking forward to meeting your guest, but the smell of shrimp/prawns makes me ill... *sigh*
Does anyone knit mostly baby stuff? I like fluffy, pastel yarn and all the photos seem to be of posh multi-coloured yarn! I wouldn't want to feel the oddball if I come to the meet-up

Is there such a thing as eco wool?
Elemmaciltur
Mar 21 2007, 3:54 pm
@
g24, I remember you wanting to come...but then you disappeared! Yes,
regan knits baby stuff from time to time...No need to feel like the odd ball with us. We're all odd enough as it is.
@
Kastanie, what do you mean with "eco wool"?
regan
Mar 21 2007, 4:18 pm
I do knit baby stuff sometimes... but I don't like doing it in places like restaurants and cafés, due to smoking (
Café Mondial isn't so smoky though). Call me weird, but I feel it's wrong to knit something for a baby, and then the knitted piece smells like cigarettes. Even though I wash everything before I give it away.
I think EcoWool comes from organic sheep, or something. I've heard about it, but already forgot about it. If you google it you should come up with some results.
Elemm, do you know what time the prawn-all-you-can-eat-thing starts? Do we have to sign up for that if we want to take part?
Elemmaciltur
Mar 21 2007, 4:25 pm
@regan, the all you can eat shrimp start, I think, at 7 p.m./1900 hrs. I've reserved for 8 for us stitchers...and there's also going to be live music playing. So, it would be great if all those coming could try signing up by Friday at the latest so that I can adjust the number of people coming. Although I don't really think that it's going to be that bad...but who knows?

Hey
SnBers!
As most of us are away during the Easter Holidays there will
NOT be a Stitch 'n Bitch for this Sunday, 8th April. Normal programme should resume on 15th April, assuming that I'll be back on 14th (I still don't have a confirmation for carpooling back from Cologne...so I might end up staying longer).
Have a great Easter, everyone!
And just to keep you motivated with your knitting:

Okay, I'm staying longer in Köln. Will be back on Monday afternoon, but please post here if any of you want to have an SnB on Sunday and what time you're intending to be at
Café Mondial, so that I can ring them up and get a reservation. If you want to be there this Sunday, then
please turn up because I'm not going to be there.
Please post here/tell me/sign-up your name at the latest by this Friday (13th April) afternoon!

SnBers: Your cellphone number's not working. So, hopefully you'll see this here:
There is NO SnB Today! Nobody had contacted me or signed up by Friday afternoon, so I didn't reserve a table at
Café Mondial.
However, you can always just turn up and grab a small table for yourselves if you feel compelled to be there.
I'll be back in Munich on Monday afternoon, so there should be SnB as usual next Sunday!

all by myself. *NOT*
And I assure you, the next time there's such a small turn-up at SnB on Sunday (there were

Hi! My name is Amanda and I am new to Toytown. I have a few questions about the knitting group that meets on Sundays. How long does the group meet for? Is Cafe Mondial loud and/or Smoky? Thanks!
Aelfwynn
Apr 27 2007, 7:33 am
It's not usually too loud to carry on conversation, nor is it usually smoky enough to set off my allergies. Someone else will have to answer about the time, since I'm almost never there for the whole time myself.
Elemmaciltur
Apr 27 2007, 8:05 am
@
Vatosca, hey Amanda. We usually stay there from 5 p.m. to about 7.30-8.00 p.m. or longer, depending on how many people are still there. And now especially that the weather's good, there won't be too many people in the cafe at all and so it will neither be loud nor smoky. Just pop around and join us!

I have a needle and some yarn (please don't ask me which kind ?) ) and till a few moments ago (had) the motivation to attend the next session...
To be honest some of the pictures scared me a bit - new to TT and even newer to knitting - okay scratch that, never done it before unless 2nd grade handicraft class counts. Would someone really take the trouble (and trust me it will be...) to teach from the letter a?
Sounds like fun though (and the pictures are reallllly impressive)

Weekdays would be preferable for me as well (since I live in a little place called Neufahrn...and

@regan: No, kks won't be there this Sunday, she told me over an email. But she should be at the Tuesday group.
@bonnie: Would be great to see you there!
@geminispark: We used to have a Wednesday group, but because of the circumstances on finding a permanent place for the group on the weekday was pretty difficult, plus the fact that most of us can't make it weekday evenings, caused us to drop the whole weekday group out altogether. If you can speak German (which isn't really a requirement) you can come join the Tuesday group, which is a German group. PM me or regan for more info.
Table reserved for 6 at Cafe Mondial this Sunday...I'll be there to moan about my current situation, if anyone's interested...but I won't be staying way long, because I need to get some work done (the cause of my moaning)

Elemmaciltur,
Thanks for the invite. I will be really busy till the 26th, my father comes to Munich to give a demonstration on Martial Arts (!!) and to hold a workshop for womens self defense.
Changing from long staffs to knitting needles, I shall equip myself with some thread and finally attend one of the meetings after!
My German is pretty basic but if it is not an iron clad rule to speak 'only' German I would love to come on one of the Tuesdays. Crochet and language skills...who could ask for more
Happy knitting all.

geminispark, wow...martial arts, eh? Well,
kks also attends the German group, partly to learn German...so you are more than welcomed to join her. Most of the ladies there speak only German, but there're also
regan and another non-TT friend of ours in the Tuesday group, both of whom also speak English, so no need to be afraid about the language barrier. I probably won't be able to attend the Tuesday group for a while since uni has started and again I have courses on Tuesdays from 17.30-20.45 hrs. *meh* But I'm looking forward to seeing you at our Sunday group once in a while!
