Seen any yet? Like snowdrops, for example.

Sure sign of spring: I saw a flock of garbage trucks leaving their winter quarters on a gathering mission!
luckwad
I woke up to loud obnoxious birds chirping. was still excited to hear them so it cant be too far into the season.
Jeeves
Yes, blackbirds on the balcony this morning. Could be worse, could be pigeons.
Bet they're all just as pissed off at the weather as humans are.
sun-by
Now this isn't pretty, folks, but it's a sure and unfortunate sign of Spring... I found a big ol' ugly tick (yuck!!! mad.gif ) on one of the dogs I took in last week. When I mentioned this on a walk with other dogsitters and owners, I heard they, too, had already discovered the pests on their pooches. sad.gif Time for more Frontline.
Zeppelin
In Regensburg the coffee shops are already putting their tables and chairs outside.

Despite the sunshine, it seems people find the snow still too bothersome and chose to go inside. I didnt see a single one of the said tables actually occupied.

Optimistically the first sign of spring.
Kay
Yesterday morning (it was freezing, though) two outside tables were occupied at Café Arzmiller
near Odeonsplatz - maybe I should have taken a picture! smile.gif
sarabyrd
And I saw pussy-willows on the trees on the way to the U-Bahn in Lehel. Spring cannot be much longer.
Daisy
I almost ran over a fuzzy little squirrel driving into the parking lot this morning. Stupid thing wouldn't move out of the way. So I had to honk at it. He must have been awfully hungry as he was trying to pick up whatever was on the ground to eat it.
belgianpraline
When do you reckon the snow will be gone for good? End of March? huh.gif

A sure sign of spring is the dead squirrels and bikers in the road. Why do they think that they can just run right in front of cars. rolleyes.gif
perdido
Well two things I noticed this afternoon. First the local tour group was giving a tour in Italian(they only do that in spring and summer). Second the local kauhof has decreased the refrigerated shelf space for cola, and increased the shelf space for beer( I noticed them doing that last spring) today.
bern
spring has forsaken this land. it will never be warm again. sad.gif

Hello, chaps and chapettes, I`m just back from Italy and it`s pretty "Springy" down there, sunshine yesterday, about 15C, cold at night, quite a shock to get back here I can tell you! Back there on Sat to see if it`s getting warmer. blink.gif
hockeywidow
I can't believe it is snowing... I think I am going to cry sad.gif
Allershausen
This should cheer you up! Munich Weather
hockeywidow
thanks, this weather is really getting to me today. it is nice to know it won't last long
grazzenger
so, odds on sitting in a biergarten, without shivering and looking ridiculous, by the end of the month? i've done it before.
Jeeves
Not zero, but diminishing fast. March 2004 was excellent for beer gardens. April was the sunniest month of 2004. There is still hope for this year, just.
Kay
Did somebody mention spring? Here in town it's snowing again! dry.gif
sarabyrd
Sure sign of Spring, honey! I've seen it snowing on May 1 and we had a sunny, warm garden party on May 2.
Kay
Does that mean you are organising one tomorrow? biggrin.gif
sea-king
blink.gif Once again I`m back from Italy( getting to be a habit) and it was 17C and very sunny in Lignano, pretty much a shock for the guys I brought back with me to Munich seeing snow everywhere. It will get better soon I hope. blink.gif

Sweetheart, tomorrow is not May 2nd and therefore not my aunt's birthday.
the Boy From Bozlem
TODAY: Beer in the Hofgarten.

sure sign of spring smile.gif

But today is a lovely sunny day and I hope you are enjoying it! smile.gif
HollyGolightly
Ummm...we have snowdrops in our garden.
the Boy From Bozlem
TBFBs Garden tips number one.

Plant Snowdrop bulbs in your lawn, come spring it looks awesome when they pop up. Just mow your lawn as normal when the time comes at the begining of the year and your snowdrops will pop up year after year.

OK I like gardening so what! ...
sarabyrd
The lilac bush next door is pushing out buds, and the plum and apple trees have gone all bumby with future buds.
kalidas
Today is the definite first sign of spring. Ten degrees, hot as heaven.
byrdbrain
Happy Spring! It has officially begun and Munich is doing itself proud.
Jeeves
Ten degrees yesterday already. Spring arrives just in time for the equinox tonight.
Eleanor_Rigby
'Tis the season of dust and dog shit. dry.gif
Yeti
Tis more like the season for flat motorcycle batteries grrrrrrrr.
Crawlie
I bet those fucking tons and tons of pebbles will still be there in July.
kalidas
Don't they suck them off the roads?
Ulysses
In hate to break to you guys, but it's due to snow again on Thursday!
Crawlie
According to the BBC, yes, it will. But then the BBC always does say it will snow over here. I tend to look at wetter.de and weather.com. They have forecast lower temperatures but no real snow. A little sleet maybe but nothing to worry about.
Ulysses
Actually, I always use wetter.de. It said snow on Thursday. I see it's changed now.
Jeeves

No they wait for Yeti to recharge his battery and for him and his team of little green men to push them off with tyres, fairing, helmet, whatever happens to be scraping along the road at the time. Actually anyone on two wheels is pretty good game for them at this time of the year.
Yeti
Ah but Jeeves there is a thin strip of tarmac that will be forever gritless. (unfortunately it's in the middle of the road)

I HATE those damn pebbles. Lord knows how many shoes get destroyed walking on that crap! mad.gif
chloe
Pebbles are found on beaches. That stuff on all the roads here is called GRIT.

First sign of spring in the wilds of north Munich: Bloke sunbathing in the Petuelpark yesterday wearing just his underpants.
randy
Biergarten for lunch. Bring on the Spring!
Tom17
I had to take off my bike jacket cycling in this morning as it was too hot. T-Shirt cycling weather is a good sign for me smile.gif
belgianpraline
It's great now that the hour has changed cos it gets dark later and we can stay outside longer! smile.gif Yesterday was sooooo warm and this morning was the first glorious morning in weeks, so I'd say Spring is here! smile.gif
sGb27
18.6 degrees atm according to wetter.com. That is insane, 3 weeks ago we were buried under snow and 6 weeks ago the temperature was 30 degrees lower than today!
byrdbrain
First Föhn of the year, open coats, convertibles with their tops down. Enjoy today, rain is in the forecast for the next week.
Tom17
Ahh the Föhn. That must be why it looked like the alps were towering over the trees on the horizon on my way to work today smile.gif

rain is on the forecast for every week. dry.gif

Clearly the sun has done nothing to improve my sour disposition which may have something to do with the fact that I was cruelly robbed of an hour of much needed sleep.
Grinner

Is that why is called www. Wetter . de?
