Sure sign of spring: I saw a flock of garbage trucks leaving their winter quarters on a gathering mission!

Yes, blackbirds on the balcony this morning. Could be worse, could be pigeons.
Bet they're all just as pissed off at the weather as humans are.

Now this isn't pretty, folks, but it's a
sure and unfortunate sign of Spring... I found a big ol' ugly tick (yuck!!!

) on one of the dogs I took in last week. When I mentioned this on a walk with other dogsitters and owners, I heard they, too, had already discovered the pests on their pooches.

Time for more Frontline.

In Regensburg the coffee shops are already putting their tables and chairs outside.
Despite the sunshine, it seems people find the snow still too bothersome and chose to go inside. I didnt see a single one of the said tables actually occupied.
Optimistically the first sign of spring.
Yesterday morning (it was freezing, though) two outside tables were occupied at Café Arzmiller
near
Odeonsplatz - maybe I should have taken a picture!

I almost ran over a fuzzy little squirrel driving into the parking lot this morning. Stupid thing wouldn't move out of the way. So I had to honk at it. He must have been awfully hungry as he was trying to pick up whatever was on the ground to eat it.

A sure sign of spring is the dead squirrels and bikers in the road. Why do they think that they can just run right in front of cars.

Well two things I noticed this afternoon. First the local tour group was giving a tour in Italian(they only do that in spring and summer). Second the local kauhof has decreased the refrigerated shelf space for cola, and increased the shelf space for beer( I noticed them doing that last spring) today.

Hello, chaps and chapettes, I`m just back from Italy and it`s pretty "Springy" down there, sunshine yesterday, about 15C, cold at night, quite a shock to get back here I can tell you! Back there on Sat to see if it`s getting warmer.

Not zero, but diminishing fast. March 2004 was excellent for beer gardens. April was the sunniest month of 2004. There is still hope for this year, just.
Did somebody mention spring? Here in town it's snowing again!

Sure sign of Spring, honey! I've seen it snowing on May 1 and we had a sunny, warm garden party on May 2.
Does that mean you are organising one tomorrow?

Once again I`m back from Italy( getting to be a habit) and it was 17C and very sunny in Lignano, pretty much a shock for the guys I brought back with me to Munich seeing snow everywhere. It will get better soon I hope.

TBFBs Garden tips number one.
Plant Snowdrop bulbs in your lawn, come spring it looks awesome when they pop up. Just mow your lawn as normal when the time comes at the begining of the year and your snowdrops will pop up year after year.
OK I like gardening so what! ...

According to the BBC, yes, it will. But then the BBC always does say it will snow over here. I tend to look at wetter.de and weather.com. They have forecast lower temperatures but no real snow. A little sleet maybe but nothing to worry about.

No they wait for Yeti to recharge his battery and for him and his team of little green men to push them off with tyres, fairing, helmet, whatever happens to be scraping along the road at the time. Actually anyone on two wheels is pretty good game for them at this time of the year.
