Indoor Golf Munich

Munich's first indoor golf centre

The first indoor golf centre in the heart of Munich can be found across from the Opera house on Maximilianstraße.

Their website has a blurb which says: "Play golf 365 days a year. Unaffected by weather and seasons. Day or night. With standard clubs and original golf balls. On the most beautiful courses in the world. For a fair price. Take a break between business and shopping. In the heart of Munich. Directly opposite the Opera House. Play golf in the city.". M'kay.

Popped in on with Profundo on Saturday morning for a looksee. The girl working there kindly let us have a go on one of the simulators. I immediately embarrassed myself with a 47 metre 4-iron slice. Not good when you are trying to look as if you know what you're doing.

They have two Golfmaster simulators. You hit towards a screen and sensors on the floor measure what the club-head does and so calculates the height, distance and trajectory of the ball. You can then see your virtual ball on the screen, hopefully sailing off into the distance in a reasonably straight line. Full swing analysis and other info is provided instantly. The system allows you to choose from 14 courses around the world. Besides the two simulators there is also a small putting green and an area to practise your swing.

You can bring your own clubs & balls, but a range of full sets are available and included in the price.

The place has a nice bar/lounge area with comfy sofas and arm-chairs. Drinks are available at the bar.

See IndoorGolfMunich for full details.

Basic Prices
One hour between 10:00 and 16:00 - €30
One hour between 16:00 and 00:00 - €40
Saturday, Sunday and holidays, one hour between 10:00 and 00:00 - €40

The entrance is via the courtyard at Maximilianstraße 2 and is up on the first floor. It's well signposted. The building that you enter doesn't look great, but once you go into "Indoor Golf" you are in very pleasant surroundings.

Sorry, did I say "girl" above? I meant "very hot girl".
OhFFS
Not the first. I'm pretty sure I've seen another one, and there seem to be one or two others as well (so Google says, anyway).

Don't know if they have a "very hot girl" though. <Insert your own joke about a hole in one, here.>

Can you provide the links to others that you have found?

Edit: Did find this on the Mr. Splodge website:

Dunno if "Indoor Golf Munich" is the first with the actual simulators or not. Actually, now I've got it. It says on the leaflet, "The first Indoor Golf Centre in the heart of the city". Slight qualification on that one. Have edited the original based based on that.
Chalky
There's also one of these in Erding now, opened in Jan til the end of March then again in the winter months.
(location Angermaier, near the Weissbrau) The simulator is only 20yoyo's an hour ;-)

The indoor golf play area in Erding is great. You can stay all day for vitually nothing. Just like hanging out at the club! I think there is a fee of 5 Euro to use all the other equipment that is there as well as the putting green. It is open from 9am to 10pm. Andy Jinks the golf pro is there most of the time and is only too willing to help you try out a whole range of gadgets to improve your swing as well as lessons if you wish. The floor is large and he has 4 practice boxes you can hit golf balls in as well as some things I have never seen or even heard of before! They are really useful in helping your swing. The simulator which cost 20 Euro an hour is quite good fun. It makes you swing correctly or you will be a duffer on the similator just like in real life! It makes you consentrate and helps you get back into the game after such a long winter. Two guys at 10 Euro apiece can get thru 9 holes, if you take carts. I would not advise walking this course! The good news is... there is no extra fee for the carts! biggrin.gif

A couple of vidcaps from the pathetic 47m thwack!

Scogs
never played on a golf simulator before, how do they handle the 47m slice into the rough, from the pics it looks like you always seem to play of a mat, basically the short stuff, a 47m slice tends to end up in the rough and not so short stuff.

@Keydeck
With a grip like that no wonder you slice the ball!
You need to get your right hand over further so the V on both lef and right hand alling along the shaft of the club and with the right shoulder.
Also your feet need some work

PS.
I think there is an indoor golf place on Ottobrunner Strasse
Scogs
also a 4 iron for your first thwack is not a good choice...7 or a 9 would have been easier

oooh, indoor golf in erding, great. shame i've totalled the ligaments in my right knee and am awaiting an op. however, chalky, gannojo. once i'm fit, fancy a game up at gruenbach?

As golf is a "good walk spolied" , with this there is not even any walking, so why bother?
Or am I just a lost hope when golf is concerned?
