Hi fellow Giesingers biggrin.gif , the lady I rent a room from in her huge house has a Saturday get-together with English-speaking children ages 2-8 from 10-2. She also takes in children over the holidays when there's no school. Her gregarious children really enjoy the company and God knows there's plenty of room in her house and garden. They play various games, sing, draw, make collages, act in little roles with costumes, bang on her piano and other instruments (I always love that part;) ) and nibble on snacks-- all in English. Her children (8, 11, 14) help her and they all seem to really enjoy the children. It's teaching them to teach and to take responsibility.

She lives near the Isar River and there are little creeks and trails out in the woods behind her house, as well as a playground, so the children also go outside sometimes. She ran a children's group at her church for 3 years and she taught children's English at a VHS, as well as college and private schools. It seems she's always teaching something! She also teaches DaF (German) to adults and tutors school children in reading and writing who need an Übertritt (to make it to the 5th grade without ending up in the Hauptschule). She's very warm and friendly and full of great ideas. AND she lives a 2 min. walk from the 52 bus which runs a loop Marien Platz - Tierpark (zoo), so you can get to her house conveniently. She's also a 10 min. walk from the U1 Candid Platz and there's lots of parking in front of the house. The only possible problem is that she also loves animals and so if any children have dog or cat hair allergies or are terrified of animals, they should definitely avoid her house. Her dog adores children and thinks their sole purpose on earth is to pet him. And I never thought I'd end up renting a room with a purring cat in it! laugh.gif

BTW, I'm a nanny during the day, but sometimes have weekends and evenings free! wink.gif
