Famous celebrities seen in Munich

I'm sure that this thread already existed but I couldn't find it. Anyway, just thought I'd post that I've seen Kai from one of the German soaps (Marienhof) now twice in Munich; once in Ned Kelly's where I shared the table with his group and once on the SBahn to the airport.

Since starting work at the airport I've seen a few minor german celebs - Udo Walz (a famous german hairdresser to the stars), the 1860 manager and various actors and presenters (including that quite good looking guy from MTV that went out with Anastasia...)

I saw Arnold Schwarzengger in Marienplatz once.

I know Bubble Gum saw Dustin hoffman at sendling Tor, at the time I was waiting on the platform , i must have missed him by minutes, can't believe it.

He was in Munich filming for Perfume, the film adaptation of Patrick Suskind's Novel 'Das Parfum'. I can't wait to see this film.

Ja, I saw Dustin Hoffman a couple of times when he was here too - wandering around Marienplatz by himself and the other time leaving his hotel with his ladyfriend. He's tiny!

I saw David Beckham and Steve MacManaman window shopping just off Tal on the morning of the day we stuffed Germany 5:1.

I met Brian Setzer when he was touring with the Stray Cats in the summer of 2004...I offered him a free bike tour of Munich (I was working for Mike's Bike tours at the time), he said only if it was on a Harley.

He was walking from Marienplatz to the HBhaus...

I saw Harrison Ford in Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten and that was about an hour after I came to Munich for the first time in my life. Talk about first impressions.

Yeah, the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten is pretty impressive...

Friend of mine saw Chris Eubank.

He was in Marienplatz and heard the Sentence "Look at the majesticness of it", turned around and saw Chris lol.

He also saw Paula Radcliffe and Kelly Holmes looking at a S-Bahn map. Decided to help them and didnt realise who they were for 10 mins!

I sat in the row behind Gwen on a MUC-LHR flight last November... . Almost moved in, but her boyfriend who was sitting next to her was bigger than me (at least that's what the air hostess told me ).

I once served Ronan Keating... nice fella he is, a bit on the short side, but still very polite

...and Mehmet Scholl, he came to the pub to watch a Champions League match the day after Bayern had won against Chelsea, but still did not manage to qualify for the next round...

...and about 2 months ago I served some fella from a punk band from California (Rancid?!? or something like it)...I didnt have a clue who they were, and probably didnt make things any better when they asked if I had ever heard of them, and I just went "errrmmm, no, should I have?!?"

I saw Haddaway in Kutzbühel this weekend .

My son was the kiddo in the McDonalds "press conference" with Michael Bollack and Ronald McDonald. He was really psyched to meet Ronald McDonald...

Günther Jauch 3 or 4 times. Once his about 5-year-old daughter was whinging about something and he pointed at a German shepard and said, "If you don't behave that dog will eat you!" She shut up, but I almost stopped to scold him - frightening a child into submission by threatening her with a dog indeed! I hope he's still paying the shrink bills!

A couple of years ago I stood next to the late Rudolph Moshammer at the Glühwein counter at the Christmas market in the Englisher Garten. Daisy wasn't there but he had a nice young man with him.

I was in Vienna the same time he had his short stint as coach of Rapid Vienna (see article), and saw him parked on the curb and in the street, totally blocking traffic with his emergency lights blinking. He casually got his coat on and walked indoors to have dinner at some restaurant.

Does he think he is a rapper?

Yes, I come home and watch Unter Uns, then switch to Verbotene Liebe then Marienhof (except I am always getting them all mixed up so I don't know if they're actually on in that order). It does great for learning colloquial German as well as trying to understand German culture generally.

Sunday Feb. 6th After visiting the Whisky Festival I called in to a little, very quiet and not well known Italian restaurant and saw Sir Georg Solti.
