Translation needed: History

And no, "Geschichte" doesn't work

I need a word for "history" as in the drop-down list on a browser's back button. More than fifty Germans and two linguists in the officce and no one can come up with a good answer.

The IE Back button is called Verlauf but that doesn't fit.

Here's the context: Maximum number of records to display on the session history page

And the translation: Instanz __________ Seite: maximale Anzahl der Einträge im Verlauf.

There's a beer for an acceptable ansewr.

Agree with STB. Historie (pronounced with 4 syllables, as if it matters)

Edit: where does the "Instanz" bit come from?
BadDoggie
"Instanz" is an instance or (browser/application) session. We actually use different wording which I have cunningly hidden so as not to provide any searchable or identifiable information about my employer per the 473-page employee policy book.

How about simply: 'letzte...'?

Ah gotcha, "Instanz" translates "session"
If you want to stick with that then you could go with something with "Historienseite zu dieser Instanz"
But I wouldn't go with anything until a native speaker has added his mustard.

If the mustard of a native speaker is still needed:
I'd say both "vorher betrachtete Seiten" and "Historie" sound good.

'zuletzt besuchte Seiten'. Never heard anyone say 'betrachten' for a webpage. Man besucht eine Webseite. Just curious, why did you change the word order in the translation?

Microsoft translated "History" in the German edition of the Internet Explorer as "Verlauf."
