A consortium headed by Siemens will run a pilot Traffic Information Agency in Bavaria.

This will provide base-level transport information for travellers to optimise, plans and routes for cars, buses, railways and even bicycles via the internet, and free of charge and including updated weather and driving conditions.

'VIB' will be owned by the Bavarian State, operated by Siemens I&S and PTV, and will integrate data from 'Bayerninfo', the Bavarian Traffic Information Centre, the Intrest Geodata platform and the Bavarian network of cyclists.

The VIB system will be owned by the Free State of Bavaria and will be operated by a company to be jointly established by Siemens I&S and PTV Planung Transport. The joint company's operating contract will last until 2015.

Typical.

I can only assume Siemens won this contract based on the outstanding job they did on the autobahn maut.

I like the way that, in your picture, everyone drives on the left hand side of the road in the correct, English way!
Is that part of the new system?
profundo
Scheme is right. Everyone is scheming to trick the rest of the world into driving on the left- when the majority are right handed and need to shift the gears, buckle the belt, adjust the radio, drink the coffee, answer the phone, munch the fries, swat at the noisy kids, brandish the firearm, etc. with the right hand. rolleyes.gif

Ah. Much better. wink.gif

Lets hope they don't have to use a knife and a fork both at the same time!
