Hi,

I've found this hotel (Herzog-Wilhem City, incase the title gests changed...) through Lastminute.com, and wondered if anyone had any experiences of staying there etc?

It's 3 * and located near the Senglinger Tor UBahn, so fairly central.

Thanks

The title might get changed but the name of the hotel would remain, what with it being the subject of the thread...

I guess the people who live in a city are the last people to know anything about the hotels there, but there's lots of reviews online, for example here As you say, it's very central and it seems to be in a fairly quiet location as well.

I have stayed there! Last year out on the piss one night in Munich and booked via http://lm.hotelclub.net/SearchResults.asp?...d=420&showall=1

It was as I remember not very special. Small room, small shower etc. A place to lay your head, no bedbugs etc but that is about it. I would use again - but only as basic accommodation etc.

As you can see rooms are currently €52 for a single, or €74 for a twin on that site above.

Cheers JE! I knew somone would have stayed there!

Sounds like what i'm after, just a place to crash on a weekend trip to Munich, and fairly cheap too - £320 for 6 nights inc. flights.

I think I even had the breakfast which was exactly like every breakfast you have ever had in a 3* German or Austrian hotel. But was all edible and clean etc - which frankly is more than you could have said about me at the time I think.

I stayed there in 92 when I went for a job interview. It was, as some previous posters said, small and clean. The one thing I remember is that the room I stayed in looked on the street and there were a bunch of drunks in the middle of the night making noises. This was during the spring so I had my window open. Try to get a room in the back.
