Just looking for a recommendation of a home delivery service for beer and such.

Any one currently using one that would deliver to the Universität area.

http://www.deliver24.com lists your local night deliverers of drinks (as well as take out places) by entering your postcode.

Here's another: http://www.getraenke-kreidl.de/

And here's a long list of more: http://www.muenchen.de/service/branchenbuch/G/1001.html

Fletch, my local pizza delivery people deliver anything they sell (including beer) as long as the order is over 9 euros.

Do you mean delivering a crate of Augustiner because the Getränkemarkt has closed, or do you mean ordering a mixed selection of Belgian trappist ales because there's no hope in hell of buying this in "the capital of beer"?

Small town boy, can you give a tip where one could by a nice Belgian Trappist Tripel or better yet a Duvel? I was so desparate that I went to the Haus der 111 Bier in Schwabing. Very scary -- clientele like a village disco or better yet, one filled with people that have "come" into Munich from afar for a big night in Schwabing. It was a high price to pay for a Duvel had to drink quick.

The biggest delivery brewery in S. Germany is Rapp. I find their beer nothing special though (although their mixgetränke are good IMO). Wasn´t too impressed with the Haus of Bier here in Munich either. Finally, I´d take English over Belgium beer any day! Cheers.

Rapp beer taste like sh@t!

Was in Madrid the other week and lone behold, I was walking around and saw the Erdinger Weißbrau Sign

Lupo, I'm not sure what you mean by "biggest delivery brewery", but all the Munich breweries, plus Erding, Weihenstephan and Schnieder, deliver throughout Germany and internationally. According to the map on their website, Rapp don't even completely cover Bavaria!

Or am I missing something here unsure.gif

By delivery I mean home delivery...Most Autobahn drivers have seen the Rapp fleet. On a given weekday morning, they head out from their brewery in Kutzenhausen (right next to Ustersbach wink.gif ) and hit the road in all directions. Anyway, I think the way they operate is that drivers are assigned areas, and it´s up to them to then deliver. I got up one morning here in Munich and on my way to school, opened my door and found 3 bottles of Rapp beer on the ground! Needless to say a nice surprise. It was from the Rapp driver who covers the area I live in. He´d gone and done the same to all the apartments in my complex. Along with instructions on when he was coming back. The way they work is that they bring a crate literally to your door (or however much you order), however often you desire. You also put empties out and they take care of that as well. In fact their bottles are even more unique than Augustiner´s Euro Flasche. It´s a shorter, fatter bottle...All good and well, unfortunately I didn´t find their beer that special...Prices are reasonable though (9-10€ per crate of HOME delivered beer...!)

That's fantastic, the Bavarian version of the milkman biggrin.gif

We have been Rapp customers since last June. While the beer is "not the best in Munich - but it's not as bad as Lowenbrau" (Husband - 12 Feb 2006). Their Green Apple water, however, is addictive and I go through a case every two weeks.

Since we don't have a car, we love the service and convenience they offer. The prices are also reasonable, especially when you consider it is delivered to your door.

Found a quite useful website from a company based in Hamburg, but will deliver to Munich etc.
they sell beer from all over the world, and not just the generally available stuff, some of these beers I have only ever seen in the countries they come from , for example from Australia they have:

Australian Crocodile
Australian Strong Lager
Carlton Cold
Carlton Crown Lager
Castlemaine XXXX Export Lager
Coopers Extra Stout
Coopers Sparkling Ale
Darwin Dark Lager
Foster`s
James Boag`s (Tasmanien)
Melbourne Lager
Sydney Pils
Tooheys New
VB - Victoria Bitter Flasche

quite impressive, anyway give them a look, their prices are pretty resonable considering the import costs etc. URL is http://www.biershop.de/

Hi

I made a posting sometime ago mentioning a service in Munich.
I have used them quiet frequently, and think they are a good service.

The company that Jellyone mentioned supplies Hertie, so you can pick up quite a few of those "beers" at Hauptbahnhof, without a minimum order or delivery charges.

The company does actually have a good selection of Belgian beers, for those who don't see the necessity in exporting Australian beer half-way round the world. Unfortunately, Hertie stock only an extremely limited selection of these.

Rapp beer is (in my opinion) the most awful one can buy (or rather, have delivered). Many Germans share this opinion - recently Rapp came round our way and left a mix of their wares on the steps of local neighbours houses. A week later most of these free samples were still there. No-one wanted to try them, even when free. Granted there's not much you can do wrong with fruit-juice and mixes, so they're ok, but the beer... yuk...

They manage to make foul tasting juices as well. dry.gif

Never touch the stuff myself...

My kids will not either!

Rapp's mineral water plus lemon juice is a dead ringer for Bitter Lemon but with far fewer calories, fact finders, and their apple juice is OK too.
