OK, we opted for a quiet Friday night in tonight. EuroSport is our source of entertainment. Anybody else watching the opening ceremonies? Thoughts? "Rocco" the performance-art skier was nicely done.

I was going to post a comment about the hats the Canadians were wearing (they look like the ones you wear when ice fishing/hunting). But then the Germans walked in and made the Canadian hats look like the highlight of NY fashion week.

The US didn't look bad. Don't they usually make them wear big white cowboy hats? Or is that just summer?

According to one site, the following countries have one athlete: Albania, Bermuda, Cyprus, Ethiopa, Virgin Islands, Kenya, Madagascar, Portugal and San Marino. I think Venezuela managed 2.

Bermuda, Ethiopia and Kenya having any winter olympians at all seems noteworthy.

yeah, but i guess (assuming you're talking about the opening ceremenoy and not the commentary on it here) if you train and dedicate your life for a few years to something you'd be celebrating the accomplishment of getting there too...

I don't disagree with you at all. This one just seems a little amateurish and nonsensical in comparison to other opening ceremonies I've seen in the past.

I have a feeling the more green beer I drink the better it will get.
