Yeti
Reality shear on Toytown, regular posters arguing about whether orgasm is a good thing or not.

Where are my smelling salts ?
arshoo
worse whether Orgasm is woman or man...well since it appears once and dissappears for a long time before coming again, i am guessing orgasm=man biggrin.gif
jml

English motherfucker, do you speak it?

and your point is?
Jimbo
My point is that the initial post is written in almost incomprehensible English. Presumably a Kraut. Or an illiterate prick. One or t'other.
plastic
Plenty of spice...but distinct lack of Orgasm on the rest of this thread.

No, I never fucked your mother Jimbo..it must be someone else..

Just skimmed though the thread….and I still stand by my conviction which applies that the women who post a lot on this thread must be either house wives hovering over their husbands cash, mid aged women who just cant get fucked respectfully, blah blah blah..

Guys are more creative, but here are the ones whose creativity went to the pit and the rest they are throwing at the forum, some are them who just happen to be in positions where they cant work anymore or are not expected to..etc.

The moral remains that the abundance of those few stink, and this odor diminishes the enthusiasm of any novice/humble potential poster.

Wait last week I ran into keydeck and he informed me that there was no such thing as the Clique. So now I hear there is one. Was Keydeck lying to me?

average posts over several hundreds a month, hours of online total time and the same smugly stench….don’t these people have anything better to do...or is it all where they can find any meaning to their measly existence.

I have to be honest in that I agree with Orgasm to a certain extent.

Firstly, I'm sick and tired of observing the daily race to pick holes in people's threads. Spelling. Bad English. Obvious puns. Yes, sarcasm is funny, but I know there a lot of potential new users who have felt overwhelmed (and unwelcome) by this and just given up. For me, Toytown should thrive on a constant influx of new users - and not just those with masses of time on their hands, or with the knack or writing witty put-downs.

Secondly, as time goes and the number of threads increases, more and more of the questions that newbies tend to ask have already been answered somewhere. Pretty much every first thread receives the same old "use the search" responses. But I sometimes wonder if this is the point? Often it is new users who dare to reply to these "obvious questions" and in the process two people are getting involved in TT and making contact with each other. Even if no "new knowledge" has been generated, so what?

Last thought: I almost didn't bother with this post, but then I did. I should probably add that there are definitely some regular users (such as our current number one poster) who don't use Toytown as a platform to look clever, act superior or writhe in their Clique. Good for you smile.gif

Well put Jayhay
Topsy
I agree, excellent post smile.gif

Although I must admit, I think things have got better recently with the pouncing on newbies business, thankfully.

I'm sure Keydeck will be pleased to hear that you don't think he's cliquey, too biggrin.gif

Well I can't tell if I am being got at in jayhay's post or not. Hmmm

As it happens I think this is an interesting and valid point. The truth is that 80% of our daily speech is non-essential, a bit like monkeys grooming I guess. So just by allowing someone to ask a question, they are starting to interact with the forum etc.

Still gets on my tits when they are ask seriously dumb questions however.

mmm. monkies grooming. hold still, Johnny...

Which reminds me, I'm suspicious of any post that starts with the word 'Hi'. It means they want something from you...
Johnny English
I am suspicious frankly of anything that appears in "Private Services Offered". I mean - it just sounds so wrong from the start.
boomtown_rat
well I pretty much agree with the sentiment jayhay, and I think I do my bit with regard to sticking up for the odd newbie or not so newbie (whilst also doing my bit on the sarcasm front sometimes).

The only thing I find a little strange is that you can be sick and tired etc...

and then exonerate the 'current nr.1 poster' from the above! (in fact I think he'll be pretty disappointed if he finds out he isn't ranked as one of the top 'witty put downers' wink.gif ). I find his approach basically ok (ie I am not being critical of the posting style) and even quite a good foil to some of us others, but as I say, how his style can be excluded from the above is a bit beyond me. blink.gif

unless you are in his Clique of course wink.gif
Eleanor Rigby
Perhaps he was referring to the current number one poster of the day ?
Katrina
There's a wee bit of confusion there in that "top poster" can mean different things.
Top total number of posts ever has the ranking keydeck, then showem, then me, then Topsy then Jimbo. Keydeck and showem have been posting since the very start, Jimbo and I joined around the same time in 2003 and Topsy in 2004, which means that those figures have been built up over some extensive time.
But in the statistics for last week or last month, those rankings would be different (look under Extra).
Quantity does not always mean quality as a general thing, so a "top poster" could also mean a high grade poster who puts genuinely useful stuff, that's an objective view. What's useful to one is irrelevant nonsense to another.
boomtown_rat
my assumption was based on Topsy's evaluation of the statement ('cause I always believe what she says). I guess Topsy is the 'top poster' (most posts) in recent times.

Or perhaps 'top poster' means the one currently posting from the highest altitude? (I'm on the 4th floor)
Katrina
Oh I wouldn't believe everything she says. There's been a few times when she's said "oh one more won't hurt", a statement which has turned out to be have been a blatant untruth and then some.

yes indeed - to my shame I must confess I was telling similar untruths last night, in fact, and I'm paying the price today - I'm guessing SiM is, too

I didn't realise that this comment would be seen to be ambiguous.
I was referring to this link from Orgasm's original post.

Anyway, the sentiment of the post as a whole was understood I hope.
I wasn't really thinking about individuals, but more about a general trend.
Topsy
bloody hell!
I don't remember ever having seen that list before... ohmy.gif
my god, seeing it in writing like that makes me wonder if I should maybe slow down a bit.
yikes

flippin eck, thinking about it, does that mean that orgasm was having a go at me and my measly existence, when he started this thread, then?
I didn't take it personally, but maybe I should've.
I'll get you, orgasm!! You're not gonna get away with this!!! Grrrrrr

I haven't posted in a long time.

But I needed to add this:
