So what do you make of Bode Miller? I lke the guy. He is a bit loose with the tongue, he ruffles feathers, but that he has a chance to beat the Austrians (and others) is enough reason to have the tube on in the comings weeks. Have you
joined Bode?

I think he's FAB.
I especially like the way he opens his big mouth before engaging his brain (I can sooooo relate) and the way that he confessed to sometimes having to go out on the slopes with an horrendous hangover.
I can't stand people who are goody-two-shoes (well, except maybe UpQuark), so young Bode is right up my alley

Seems like a very cool guy. Nutty, but cool. I love the fact that he's just as likely to crash as he is to win - he skies to the very edge of his abilities, always.

He said he skiid with a hangover after the World Championship gold medal he won.. It all got out of hand and the newspapers made it out to mean he got shit-faced before a world cup race.
He has been known to be out partying until the small hours before a race.
An awesome talent and always on the edge. Has added some real excitement to the sport after the domination of Hermann Maier for so many years

If he smoked spliff and a random drug test detected it, then he'd get booted out.
I don't blame him for restricting himself to booze while he's still competing.

He's hot.
And his balls out attitude is awesome. He is not afraid to push it beyond limits because he has fun doing it and that is an admirable quality in any athlete.

I don't really pay attention to him, but
this tickled my funny-bone. It's the pot-head calling the kettles black regarding drugs.

I would not call Pot exactly performance enhancing though.
Hell, if he can smoke splees and still win a gold then he thoroughly deserves it

i think he was actually stoned for this one.
makes you wonder just how cheeky those vics inhalers really are.
Maybe Bode can tell us how to stay in shape and still drink too much beer...

Well, the downhill is underway, I guess Bode will be on in around 10 to 15 minutes. It's quite exciting already

EDIT - he blew it, sadly, as did Darren Rahlves.

Bode, Bode, Bode!QUOTE
ENGEN, Switzerland (AP) -- The old Bode Miller is back. He's winning, he's joking and, of course, he's taking risks.
Miller took a particularly aggressive line in the final turns of a downhill Saturday before crashing across the finish line to win the hallowed Lauberhorn race and move within two wins of Phil Mahre's U.S. record for World Cup victories.
Miller attributes win to tactical tumbleQUOTE
WENGEN, Switzerland (Reuters) - America's Bode Miller won the classic Lauberhorn World Cup downhill race on Saturday with a dramatic finish line crash that he said he had planned all along.
"I pretty much knew at the start of the race that I was going to crash at the finish," Miller told reporters after picking up his fourth World Cup win of the season, and the 25th of his career.
Miller said he had decided to go flat out coming through the course's final s-shaped turns and over the last jump despite knowing that it would throw him directly into a large dip in front of the finish.
They said he was growing more conservative??

PARK CITY, Utah - Olympic medalist and former World Cup champion Bode Miller is leaving the U.S. ski team.
Miller told men's coach Phil McNichol of his decision following a meeting at the headquarters of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association this week, the federation said in a news release Saturday.

Miller releases staff after winning World Cup QUOTE
BORMIO (Reuters) - Bode Miller has released all his staff following his overall World Cup title, one of his former employees said on Saturday.
The maverick, who skied as an independent this season after pulling out of the U.S. team, told most of his staff that their current contracts would not be renewed.
Employee Robi Kristan told Reuters that Miller had asked him to stay and be both his slalom and downhill technician.
